Yes, I mentioned that already. Not sure about the width since I don't have a box handy.

I believe when you say "box top card" you're referring to "box toppers"; oversized cards placed in a box "on top" of the packs of cards, not cut from the top of the box. Cards cut from the bottom of boxes are actual cards meant to be cut from the box. They are usually listed as "Wax Bottom Cards" or "Wax Bottom Panel" under Inserts and Related Sets. You'll also find "Box Toppers" listed there.
The Pete Rose fake card referenced above is just the sample image printed on the box. Ebay scammers will cut the images from the boxes and try to pass them off as "blank backs" or "blank back proofs". You'll notice on the Pete Rose "card" that the "BASEBALL" banner overlays the bottom of the card. To cut this "card" straight on the bottom edge will make the "card" undersized; less than 3-1/2 inches.

So when people say "box top card" or there are inserts on here with that label is it from actually cutting the top of the box as in this case?
I feel so dumb as I've never understood what it meant and the it was completely random I even clicked on this thread. Thanks for the question, the reply and hopefully I've learned earn something new- Cheers! Becky
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
