Was about to upload image, then I noticed something odd about the SN... 594/560

Is this considered a Printing error?

It's hard to say.  They could have actually stamped more than 560 cards.  Or they didn't start the stamping counter at 001.

each card is a "/slugging percentage #".    No idea of where they stopped.

Looking at other Production Line inserts, the stamping is very inconsistent (on all cards) as far as centering & even vertical positioning of individual numbers.  Donruss must have hired some former librarians to affix the foil numbers with those hand-held, rotating number-ring stampers... and they forgot to reset the hundreds-digit to "0" after finishing Tino's 577th card (or Raul's 541st card).

Well, at least the last part of that theory is likely correct.  There's another Mo Vaughn card on COMC with a number in the 300s.  So, perhpas all of his "0--/560" cards are mistakenly numbered 500-599.  This could have created duplicates of 61 SNs, and 39 over-"produced" SNs.

That's my $5.02 anyway :)

I'm impressed that NJDevils noticed the 2nd number matches his actual slugging %. 

I have seen cards of this nature before, the serial number being higher the the print run. The ones I have seen like this were listed as printing proofs. I am in no way saying that is what your card is. If you bought or traded for that card that is a possibility. If you pulled it from a pack yourself then ignore everthing I said before....NOW!

That's great. I just hit 5000 SN cards last week but none of mine are like that...not even a single one.

Just a thought but could the numbers be reversed on this set.

If not how many are miss printed? Or is it and overrun.

It was common for companies in the late 90s and early 2000 to print additional cards past a specific SN# as replacement cards. It is not a printing error.
