I have a 6 card set from the 1996 Finest baseball release. In 1995, Finest had a bronze set that Beckett even lists in their big magazine, that is also listed here, but this 1996 version lists nowhere! COMC doesn't list it either. The players and card numbers are: 1) Barry Larkin -Reds 2) Greg Maddux - Braves 3) Hideo Nomo - Dodgers 4) Mo Vaughn - Red Sox 5) Randy Johnson - Mariners 6) Marty Cordova - Twins. The other part regarding scanning is that these cards come out so poorly, I'm guessing it's because of the copper color of the metal used for the card. I've had similar issues trying to scan some other cards to submit images here, probably because they are too reflective. Any suggestions on this?

This is a different card than the one already listed on the database. I actually uploaded the blank back we have, and i took me a while to track down where because the back was pure white

It looks like there's two versions of this set. A bronze (metal) numbered set and a regular card stock (blank back) set.

~Rob~ Hockey set collector including inserts, ERR, COR, VAR. Knowledgeable about 1968-69 to 1994-95 hockey. All 1990 and newer cards for trade are NRMT. Expect the same in return. 1989 and older are assigned a grade. Everything on my trade list is available for sale. Reasonable prices based on condition. If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

With the polished resin on the front of the card, I'm guessing the thickness to be about 3/16 inch! I forgot to mention that even Topps website doesn't list it! The backs also read "Chromium" & "Holochrome", both with the legal patent info.

As far as the scanning part goes, unfortunately, Chrome and those types of sets just don't scan well. There isn't a whole lot that can be done about that. The only thing that can really be done to make the image look even halfway decent is use a decent photo editing software (I highly recommend PhotoScape! It not only makes it easy to adjust colors and brightness levels, but it gives you the ability to rotate and crop much better than most programs so most of your scans will end up looking like the card in hand!).

Thanks Celticwolfco. I do have a version of that software. I'll test that out tonight when I get home. I was also thinking - would a sheet of co!ored plastic help?

I found a trick for foil and silver or gold text. I use a new graded card sleeve and put the card on top I found this trick while uploading Black Gold cards and it works well with Elite and Prizm cards also . You also can use card sleeves if you don't have the graded or team bags.
