So I'm sitting here "bravely" triying my hand at adding a brand new set (well sort of new) from 1994 namely the Dynamic AFLPA series. It's then I decide to take a break and turn to the remote control and lo and behold on one of our TSN (The Sports Network) cable offerings just so happens to be a match between the Geelong Cats and the St. Kilda Saints of the 2018 season of the Australian Football (as they say "Footie") League. Between the Australian accented coverage by the commentators and the different skill set required to play the game in the first place it was entertaining. Quite a number of years ago I seem to recall the sport being televised in Canada but really hadn't recalled any games recently. Two of the moments that especially stood out was when one of the announcers said in refering to it having recently rained that it was "bucketing down" and the other when one team (Geelong) got a sizable lead but hadn't really what we would have said "put away" they referred to it has having "not put them to sod"!!
