I lost my dad in 2002. He wasn't into much sports wise and he didn't really care about cards- but I miss him every day. My life would have been a lot different if he had lived longer- we were going to restore a classic car together. (Classic car ownership has been my lifelong dream). We went to look at a couple, but they were too far rusted for him to tackle while battling cancer. I don't think I will ever get the opportunity to own one now, for my own health is giving me more trouble than I ever thought possible.
I hope those of you who still have your dads appreciate that fact!
Edit to add photo: This was the very last photo ever taken of my Dad. It was taken 9/8 or 9/9/2001 in Lake George, NY. (yes, just before the attacks). We had staked out our chairs to watch the fireworks display sponsored by our favorite car show. My dad wore his work clothes all the time, everywhere- he literally had enough copies of them for every day of the week and spare. He worked for the USPS. I still own and wear the same jeans and jacket. Still have the shirt but don't wear it too much- I should break it out from time to time.
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
