Memphis beat Durham 14-4; only 9% of the players for Memphis were on the roster at the beginning of the year. Pretty impressive I think.

Try to take the family to Harbor Park and watch the Tides at least 3 times every summer. Love that there's a dealer table setup outside of the souvenir shop, not the greatest selection but can always pick up a few packs of 90's sets I'm working on. Can't beat ballcards at the ballpark. Only way it could be better is if they were still the Mets affiliate like when I was a kid.

That specific card table at that specific ballpark (Harbor Park) is where I bought my son his first pack of cards a couple of months ago. And frankly, that's why I've started collecting again.

Attended an Atlantic League Playoff game last night between Somerset Patriots and Long Island Ducks - the league is unaffiliated with the MLB. It was game 3 and the Patriots (my adopted home team) staved off elimination in the 5 game series by winning 8-4. Got to see a Billy Martin or Earl Weaver type ejection of the Long Island manager who went to protest the umpire saying his second baseman was pulled off the bag on a wild throw for a double play. The manager threw his tantrum and dug up second base and tossed it toward left field. It was fun.

That's awesome, Commish! Replay has robbed us of that in MLB!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The dealer table was there beside the souvenir stand at old Met park also, but they only had Tides or AAA All-Star cards back then.. I wish I still had all the Tides cards I bought as a kid.

Congrats to the Memphis Redbirds! I'd love to see a game there in Memphis. I can't say that I might never have the opportunity b/c I also never thought I'd make it to Busch Stadium to see the STL Cardinals play, but it happened.
I just found out today that the Greensboro (NC) Grasshoppers are NOW affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates. BOO! (Sorry Pirates fans.) I don't understand how this team keeps bouncing around through affiliates. They've been around for many decades but the past two have had them associated with the Yankees, Rays, Marlins and now the Pirates.
