I know there are two versions of the set one was a chrome reflector.
My question is, does anyone have a non-reflector with the plastic peel stuck on them, as the chrome reflectors had over them?
I was told that both versions had the plastic peel. But I can't find any non-reflector that had the plastic peel on them. Help! Inlighten me.

There is also a non-Finest version (non-chrome) that would never have peel. Just regular card stock.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

again miss labeled they are reflectors you can tell. Just zoom in and see the white outline around him. That is a dead giveaway that we are looking at a reflector. The reflectors are embossed. even in hand, you can see that outline on them. The regular cards I have do not show that outline. They are not embossed.
Can't rely on web posts on this one. Because I've looked at a Lot of pages on the web and 1/2 are labeled right and 1/2 are labeled wrong. I even saw some reprints that someone is trying to sell as originals. Really, an original with a peel-off cover?? Pull the other one. lol
But I have yet to see a regular reprint card (Showing no outline or any other tell tail sighs it's a reflector) with a peel-off plastic cover. Do you have one?
What do you have in your collection? Do you have a non-reflector with a peel-off plastic cover?

All Finest cards have the chrome finish, whether they are refractors or not. The refractors refract light when held up to it. You see the colors of the rainbow. In this set, they also have the letter "R" in one of the corners on the back, like in Dan's link. COMC has them right. It sounds like you have reprints and Finest reprints. The white outline around the player just means it's a Finest, and may or may not be a refractor.

switzr1 That is what I'm saying and what I have. I've got 3 reflectors with a peel-off and 9 regular reprints with no plastic peel-off.
I uploaded the photos of the ones I have that were missing and saw reflectors photos on the regular reprints.
So I thought I would tell them about the mistakes. I reported it on the pages that the photos are the reflectors. You can see the embossing and the peel-off plastic. But I was told that both sets came with the peel-off and the photos are right. I was shown a link to a page that is without a drought, the photos are reflectors the embossing outline gives it away let alone the shine. but the heading reads wrong. I find it completely easy for someone to mix them up or even forget a word on a listing. So I thought I would ask. To see if anyone has a regular reprint with a peel-off. I thought, what would be the point in putting a peel-off on a regular card? How did I got so lucky that I have 9 regular reprints with no peel-off?
I also have an add-on called Imagus "I run Linux" I can Ctrl-click on any photo and pop it off the page and zoom in to the point where I can see every pixel. so looking at photos no matter what size or how they are placed on a web page is easy. And I see that embossing outline showing up on listings that do not have the word reflector.

First and foremost, please use the correct terms to cut down on confusion. It's "REFRACTOR" not reflector. All Topps Finest (refractor and non-refractor) cards have a chrome-like finish, all are embossed, and came with a protective peel-away film. Topps Finest Refractors have an additional "refractive" finish.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

And here is the 1998 Topps Clemente Reprint (same 1964 version as my previous 2 links that were for the Finest and the Finest Refractor). These are regular cards and would not have a peel. These were the images that were uploaded here in the Finest set that we had to remove because they were incorrect.
