I need help. I just bought a new computer yesterday, and it's running Windows 10. Overall I have no problems with it, but it's giving me a major problem with one of my card projects. I am hoping someone can help me figure out how to work around it.
What I am doing, is a major sorting project of scans. I have a folder where I have a subfolder for each person to have a card in my collection. What I am doing is, opening the image in a window and then sliding it over into the proper album, which I have open on the screen as well. (neither window is open full screen). Now, what should happen, and what happened on my last computer, is that the image would disappear and the image of the next card up would then be in it's place. On this new computer, that doesn't happen. The first image I opened stays there on the screen until I manually click on a new one. That...is not going to work for me.
If I can't find a way around it, the major project I've been working on since August may be dead...meaning I just wasted two months of my life.
Here is a screencap of what I am doing.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. The window on the right is the Photo Viewer window, not a Windows Explorer window. You have to manually click the Next or Previous buttons to change the viewed image. You need to open a second (duplicate) Windows Explorer window.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I just tried it for myself and had the same issue you did. Perhaps Microsoft changed the way Windows 10 performs in one of their updates.

It looks to me like you have a folder for each letter of the alphabit. I am assuming that you have a subfolder for each player within the correct letter. If this is the case (taking that Caron Butler card) I would slide the small picture of it on the left side into the folder for B. Once I had every card within its correct Lettered folder, I would then go into each letter and do the individual player folders.
On that screenshot and what I do in Windows 10 is ignore the picture to the right.

obx - Your last line was exactly what I was thinking when I read this thread earlier. Drag-and-Drop inside of the Windows Explorer page. The Viewer is useless for what Billy wants to do.
I didn't reply then b/c I was completely wasting my time watching the Panthers get destroyed by the Steelers!

Have you thought of doing a few lines at a time?, go through a few lines taking say all the letter A and dragging to that folder, once you go into the A folder you should only have a small amount of pictures to rename which will be easy changing your view to extra large icon (no need for preview)
also how are you naming scans? If you did surname first name brand year then by doing a simple sort alphabetically would keep cards and folders together for easy drop and drag
hope this makes sense

You had two Windows Explorer windows open side-by-side. Both the same folder.
Then set one to Medium Icons (left) and one set to Extra Large Icons (right).
And you weren't able to drag the image from the right-side window to the left-side window folder?

I just tried that. No change.

i maybe able to skype with you later and walk through.. but some of the drag / drops are more or less like a copy - paste. If you want to move the pics just cut and paste to the new location.
what i have setup is a folder so when i scan, the images go in there and i name them different file names.. IE: 2018 1 a and 2018 1ab (year, card , a (front side) and ab (back side). then when i upload to the site, i go to that folder.
After which,i now just typically delete the images, but on some i CTL + Left Click on the images i want moved and either cut/paste into new folder or have another window open totally separate from the one i am in and drag over to the new folder.
