First off, sorry to Scott (bravefan1) for sending the package in a bubble mailer so it could be tracked. This was a relatively small trade, about 8 cards per side. Nothing huge. So Scott sent his in a PWE, nicely protected, and he sent on Monday, 3/18, and I got the label printed on 3/18. Dropped off at PO on 3/19. By Saturday, 3/23, the PWE arrived here. (It may have even arrived earlier, but that was when I got to the PO).
Meanwhile, the bubble mailer has apparently taken on a life of it's own within the USPS's system.

Please, see for yourself at the tracking link. It got to Michigan from NY in 2 days. Who knows what happened to it after that.
I figured if I said something here, it'll show up tomorrow. :) (That's what I'm hoping.)
Not bashing the USPS (Billy!). I know things can happen. I just want Scott to get his cards! :)

Just proves that paying extra to ensure that it arrives, is not always the best case senerio. I know things bad happen in PWE as well as bubble wrapper with tracking, but thats why I choose not to spend my hard earned money on a what if. At the end of the day, its just printed pictures on cardboard. Hopefully they show up, but I am not sweating it. Thanks for your concern Dan!

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I think Hilochef and I sent out our cards in a trade on that same day. We each got the other's cards a few days ago. He's in Hawaii and I'm in rural Illinois!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I often use the flat rate boxes which advertise three day delivery. I once asked the clerk if would get there in 3 days as I was sending baked goods. Her reply was, "no, that's just an estimate, not a guarantee".

Off topic (sorry), what ballpark are you at in your new profile pic, Joe?

That's almost insane. Apparently it was sorted wrong in Knoxville. It should've went straight to Chicago from there, not came into NC to then go to Chicago. You could have personally driven it to the destination in much less time and had a leisurely road trip along the way there and back. And you'd have still been home before the USPS delivered the package. Just be glad it didn't go into Ohio too. That is the place packages go to for vacation b/c they stay there for days before moving on to somewhere else.
I believe the OP package was going TO Ohio and bypassed it by going to Michigan first. That is probably the faster route, even though it went through OH to get to MI, and then back to OH. I constantly have packages make it to HI, CA, etc. faster than anywhere that the route goes through Ohio. I don't know why that is, but it's been going on for many years now.
