Thanks, guys, she's our first grandchild in two years, and we have another on the way sometime in February.
About 20 years ago when I found myself in the ER for possible heart issue that ended up being gallstones, I prayed for God to grant me a chance to see every one of my grandchildren. At the time none of my four children were married, and my eldest was just entering into a relationship.
She ended up marrying the guy and gave us three beautiful granddaughters. My son followed several years later and he added two more, a granddaughter and grandson. And then yesterday's blessing of another granddaughter from our middle child. Our youngest is due in 2020.
We joke about my prayer. They at times hold it over my head as controlling how much longer I shall live, and I counter with "Honor your father and mother so that you may live long in the land..."
The rumor is that my two youngest plan on having at least six between them. The one that's just had the daughter wants to have a boys basketball team, so she's got at least five left. I tell her she also needs a bench for subs.
We shall see.
