Did you get to watch any of the games, Mark? The one on Thursday was a FOX primetime broadcast so I got to see the last few innings after I got home from work. Saturday's game was on MLB Network. I watched the 1st 7 innings at home and was able to catch the end at work. I completely missed Friday's game but saw the score on MLBNet later that night. I can't wait for the playoffs to start!

Yesterday I had a reunion of sorts with my tax department friends from Guardian Industries. Since I went on disability almost 3 years ago everyone has retired or moved on to other companies since the acquisition by Koch. I actually saw that the hosts husband has a nice man cave with some graded Tigers cards and some shin cards worn by VMart amongst other things. I didn't want to get all baseball card geeky at the reunion but I did reach out to him when I got home. I even dug through my cards to find one if VMart catching with those type of shin guards on. Thought it be nice to post next to his shin guards on the wall.

Just got back from a visit to Cooperstown NY. Wandered around the HOF for a couple of days. Picked up some Giants for my collection from the various card shops on Main Street. Enjoyed the quiet and serenity of a small community. Very relaxing.

Cooperstown is a great time. Been almost 20 years since I've been there, time for a return visit.

Spent yesterday enjoying one of our granddaughter's birthday (6 years old). The planned event was a "pool-party" hosted by a local high school. Being a "non-swimmer" I was placed in charge of procurement of the food consisting of pizza and garlic fingers. The kids and a few of the adults had a great time in the pool and the meal was a sure fire hit with one and all. Our son and family from Halifax and our other daughter from the Annapolis Valley , N.S. were able to attend. For an encore the entire tribe then spent the afternoon at a local attraction, Fletcher's Family Farm... The weather was more than co-operative with sunny skies and temps in the mid twenties Celcius (translating to mid to upper 70's Fahrenheit rather non typical for this time of year in these parts. Its back to work on Monday but the last summer weekend of 2019 will be one to remember.

I'm sorry if I missed thanking everyone for their kind thoughts and words the last few days. My wife has been awake and very alert the past few days. She's able to communicate by shaking her head yes or no. I've been telling her my usual lame 5th grade jokes just to keep her smiling. Or at least shaking her head at me. She's not in any pain. And she's kept comfortable.
It's great to see everyone posting something good. I hope everyone will keep at it.
Thanks, Dave

In the spirit of continuing this positivity-posting the wife and I just returned late last night from a fantastic weekend. Saturday started with decorating for our granddaughters first birthday in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia (yes Sydney Crosby's hometown, the same) which was a resounding success with friends and family about. Not too sure if the little one completely undertood it all , perhaps a bit overwhelming for a "young'un". Sunday began with an actual TCDB meetup and exchange which would have to rank as a "close" second in regards to the weekend festivities. Sunday's finale was a walkabout after the meetup in Mahone Bay experiencing the 23rd annual "Scarecrow Festival" in Mahone Bay as well topped off with a family lunch at an outdoor cafe , an event not always to be enjoyed weatherwise in most parts of Canada especially considering some locations in Western Canada were under a winter weather watch and expecting a foot or more of the white stuff. All in all a very pleasant weekend spent.

Sounds like a fun weekend. I'm glad you had fun.
I really wanted to reply to your post b/c I like the Corn Flakes Truck in your avatar. I have an Eggo's one that's very similar. Swap the white with yellow and the green roof with a red one. Then swap the Kellogg's logos and they would match. How did you get yours (if you actually own it)? I got my Eggo's one about 20 years ago when I was a stock clerk in a grocery store. Kellogg's randomly inserted "Stock-Clerk Appreciation" certificates inside cases of their products. I pulled one (ironically from a case of Corn Flakes) and mailed them the info. They sent me a package of all kinds of cool Kellogg's memorabilia. Besides the truck, I remember getting a couple of Apple Jacks themed disposable cameras and a Coco Crisp watch. There were several other items, but I can't recall them right now.

Yes I do indeed own it and it sits atop the table/desk that serves as a computer desk that I'm currently using. Not 100% sure as to the origin but the wife seems to recall that I bought it for her some years ago and I'm not about to disagree!!
