I was wondering if I could get any suggestions on the best service to use for digital cloud storage.  I mainly just want a safe place for family pictures.  I currently have them on my laptop and an external hard drive, but I am thinking about maybe protecting them by having them stored somewhere online as well.  I have heard of drop box and google drive before but don’t know a whole lot about them. 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I’d also prefer a free service if possible. 

I've used Google Drive for years. 15 gigs of data is a lot of pics. If you run out then you can set up another ID for 15 more gigs.

We used Snapfish to print up hundreds of pics, and stored them there, but then you have lose control of them when needed, whereas keeping them on Google Drive gives you control.

Fotki. It's not free but it gives you more control to do anything you want than any other website. I've maintained my website on them since 2004 and will likely hit 500 thousand images next year...already there if you count my second account, the Cardboard History Gallery. 

Basically, it comes down to you get what you pay for, and simply put, I choose to pay for the best. 

Because I am a teacher and Google gives educators through their School Boards free unlimited access and storage I have lots of experience with Drive. You can download and upload between other file formats very easily. I would recommend it.

I use Google Drive for my cards. Really good for formatting folders.
