I'm late to this party. And they're admittedly only my second favorite team, but what an amazing year. Totally different feel for me than when my Cubs won in 2016. That year, I was just sure they'd win it all from Game 1. The Nats had to fight and claw and have talk about their manager being fired and their players being traded. Then the Baby Shark thing happened and got spontaneously adopted by the fans. The dancing in the dugout. The shifting racecar gears. They're the oldest team in baseball. Their bullpen was terrible. They were down constantly. They use old-school good starting pitching. They steal bases. They hit some, but not a crazy amount, of homeruns. And the won the World Series. Second favorite team or not, I'm pretty happy about this.

PS: Give the last three World Series winners: HousTON, BosTON, and WashingTON, maybe it's time for Edmonton to get a baseball team?
