I second that! I've been alive long enough to have seen freedom grow, and now I hope to see it maintained. God bless everyone who served and is serving in our military.

Wishful thinking on the long weekend. Birthday today (Semper Fi) and honor all of us tomorrow, but will be doing it at work. Even schools here are open tomorrow.
For all those that served, no matter which service or nation, Happy Veterans and Remembrance Day.

As a teacher I am glad the schools here in Ontario are open. Every school will have a ceremony commemorating Veterans. The kids participate every year in various ways. If it was a day off the vast majority of these kids would participate in nothing, and learn nothing about sacrifice.

May everyone take a moment to reflect on the meaning of today whether at work or otherwise and be thankful for the freedom our countries have benefited from all those who have served and also those who continue to do so.

As was said many years ago in a book on the American Civil War. It went something like this - Never before has a group of men went to war, so another group of men could be free.
