This come from a web site I read almost everyday FIELD OS SCHEMES about Public money paying for stadiums arenas and the turns into private profit.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

If you think it's bad for the NY-P League (losing 9 of 14 teams), the Appalachian League is losing every team EXCEPT the Pulaski Yankees! Pulaski moves up a level to another league. I don't know why that was the team to keep. The Bluefield Blue Jays have the most championships and I'm sure the Danville Braves are 2nd. The Johnson City Cardinals are usually good and won this year's championship over my hometown Burlington Royals. The Elizabethton Twins have been good for most of my life as well. Besides Burlington, those other teams I listed have had the same affiliation since I was a little kid (along with the Kingsport Mets). I'll to not be able to see baseball in Burlington anymore, but at least there are still a few other teams around me that aren't more than an hour of a drive.

Also note that a vast majority of the teams on the list are on the East Coast and are either Singe-A or rookie level. Just a handfull of Double-A teams.

I'm not a MiLB expert, but it looks like every organization may lose at least 1 affiliate. I see the Lowell Spinners on there so that's one for the Red Sox.

I understand that and also know that you aren't into baseball much. I recognized several of the Minor League teams on the list, no matter their location or who they are affiliated with now or in the past.
But the Burlington Royals are the ONLY team in NC on that list. MLB HOFer Jim Thome started his pro career there in 1990. Potential HOFer (minus the PED's) Manny Ramirez started there in 1991 and possible future HOFer CC Sabathia started there in the late 90's (wanna say 1997 or 98). Several other MLB players started there too. Cliff Lee is the next biggest name that comes to mind from my lifetime. The team started in 1945 in the Carolina League but moved to the Appy League in 1986. I really only know about them after the move to Appy.

The TriCity Dust Devils are my hometown team. They have a HUGE following with Fernando Tatis jr., Luis Urias, Trevor Story, and Russell Wilson some of its more famous alumnus. I hope they are able to find another league to play in. Summer nights won't be the same around here without them.

I didn't know Russell Wilson played for them! I knew that he was drafted in the MLB and that he played for the Asheville Tourists while he was at NC State University and transferred to the University of Wisconsin to play more NCAA football. NCSU would not allow him to start at QB if he continued playing MiLB baseball in the football off-season. He refused to limit his options and transferred to UWis. to play another NCAA football season. After that season, he declared for the NFL Draft. Russell knew exactly what he was doing the whole time and the NFL was where he wanted to be. Look where he is now! Owning a Super Bowl ring and with chances to win more of them, he made the right choice. He actually still has baseball-rights held by an MiLB team, Trenton Thunder. Not likely that they'll ever see him play baseball in Trenton! That monster NFL contract he signed early this year surely keeps him away from off-field activities, including other fields in other sports.
