So just when things are going fantastic with the Patan world, it gets even better!! Apparently it was my turn to get robbed. Thank god not my house or person but my &*%$ Post Office. Guess who's parcel box got cleaned out. Pick me Pick me!!!!! Get there today as Monday they dont do PO Box mail only in town so I always get Friday then not again until Tuesday. Well I open my personal PO Box and its plumb full with small packets so I have a key to what are called parcel boxes. They are throughout the station and you open them take out the contents and return the key. I go to my box and it is already open a bit. I put in the key but not neccassary as it opens right up and empty!! Somebody has pried it open and cleaned it out. Obviously angry I take both key and entire empty box to the Kiosk and wait my turn. I get to the counter and he asks me why I took out the parcel box, and I reply to show you its empty, my parcel(s) and/or packet(s) are gone. His reply oh great not another one. I ask what in the hell he means and here I am the 12th YES 12th person to report a empty parcel box. It seems that they break in during the night in teams and clean what they can out!! Since the 20th is government cheque day they hit over the weekend. So he says he will add me to the "list" of stolen boxes and says sorry? No here is how to make a claim, nothing!! He also mentioned that they have no record of what was even in the box!! So now I haver to go through all my paperwork to try and determine what was taken, thank god I keep proof of everything. Just disgusted with the whole situation, welcome to a city of dispair. So much hard times that they are now stealing from PO Boxes in our post office. And this is already the second time this year!! Wish me luck asnd oh yeah 2020 is off to a fantastic start. =(

That sucks! I can't believe the PO is that easy to break into. You'd think they would have cameras and/or an alarm system to catch or scare off burglars, especially since it happened before.
Someone would have to have some machinery to get mail from my mailbox. And they'll make a lot of noise. Mine is a metal locked dropbox-style mailbox and only 2 people have a key: myself and my Mom. They'd need a torch to cut it open or a saw to cut the post and take the whole box. They'd need something big and powerful to pull the whole post out of the ground. I had to replace the post recently though. A snowplow blasted through here at high speed a while back and the force of the snow knocked the mailbox at least 5 feet from the old post. The old post was a metal "skeleton" with a plastic "skin". The mailbox didn't attach to the metal, only the plastic. So the part of the plastic where the mailbox was mounted just sheared off. At least it didn't damage the box at all. I'd bet a snowplow can't take it down now, unless it runs over it.

I'm sorry. That really is aweful! I'd put some blame on that PO as well. It doesn't sound like it was very secure facility. I hope they are able to catch these losers. You may not get your mail back but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing they're in prison.

Let's bring this one back to life! Not b/c I want to, but b/c I need to vent my frustration at a great plan against the weather being foiled by technology!!! We got our 1st measurable snowfall since 12/10/2018 in NC today! That's a long drought but it's not like we haven't had snow at all, just nothing that could stay on surfaces. I had a plan for work tonight and re-arranged my schedule. It was working good at first. I started work early and was making ground on getting home way before the roads would start to get bad. And then...
The heater in my car stopped working!!! So I had no way to "de-fog" my windshield on the inside. So it's snowing outside, my defroster is blowing more cold air on the windshield inside the car and I have no heat inside the car in any way. After clearing snow off my car to leave for work at 4pm, then cleaning it off again after my first account, and then cleaning it off again after my 2nd account: my gloves were wet and so were my shoes. I did think to bring a back-up pair of gloves with me, but they aren't skin-tight like my first pair. My fingers were freezing by the time I got home AND that's after blowing off the final account for the night. I tried to call my contact for the account to push the work to Friday afternoon to no avail. Then I called my boss, who also couldn't make contact with the person. He gave me the okay to ditch it until Friday, but I sat in my car for 10 minutes waiting for a reply from him. If it wasn't for the heater issue, I'd have probably done all 3 accounts and thought nothing of it. But the roads in town were getting really slushy and I can't clearly see out of my windshield from the inside! That was getting dangerous. I do have a "Windshield Wonder" in my car that helped me complete the accounts I got done, but it was getting less effective each time I used it b/c it was becoming wet. At that point it is just moving moisture across the windshield instead of absorbing it. By the time I got home, I had pre-hypothermia on my right hand. Two fingers were bright red and two fingers were pale white! It took about 30 minutes at home to get all the fingers to match colors again. This wasn't even a bad storm here, but the heater in my car going out made that SO MUCH worse!!! I'm REALLY starting to hate this car I bought last May! Things keep breaking or quitting at the worst possible times.
At this point, it seems like I should have just spent a few grand on keeping the old car on the road instead of spending it (and more) on getting this car and still owing $4K on it! The only positive I can take from this is that it's earning me credit that I've never had before that purchase. And I guess another is that I did keep reserves of cash to cover unknown expenses. As for the snow here in the northern Greensboro area, I'd guess about an inch or so. That's pretty much nothing and also leads to my frustration that happened to me Thursday afternoon/evening. It's hard to tell how much actually fell because the ground-temp has been in the 40's, so the snow was melting as it was hitting the ground. It is STILL melting now with the air-temp below freezing, but the ground-temp is still around 40F. Just a really frustrating night for me and now I have to deal with all 4 accounts Friday afternoon/evening.

Mine actually goes back a few weeks. About a month ago my sister found a lump on her breast. She has gone in and found out that she has breast cancer in both breasts and tests are still being done to see if it has spread to other areas. It is stage 4 which for those who know little about cancer is terrible. She has started chemo but my wife, who is much more familiar with cancer due to it running in her family says that typically a person has no more than a few years left with this prognosis. You take it one day at a time and make the best of it I guess.

Already asked Joe!! No tracking numbers no coverage. That simple. They are exempt from claiming resposibility. Awesome eh. Quick update after I went through everything it appears it was three cheap eBay buys and a Edmonton Oilers scarf, winning bid $1.04 with free shipping. Felt bad for the seller, all togethor under $10 so am good.
As for my life in general I find it interesting this thread popped up. Lender that pre-approved us emailed last night at 9 PM to back out. We were preapproved for 465K based on a 600,000 property just to see if we met the debt load. Final appraisil came in at 460K on the property and they back out. Like WTF cant we just borrow less?! They said it is their right to opt out. Thanks alot. My bank would NOT cover the auto loans and NSFed my business account AFTER I sent them an email (with a reply saying they would work with me) as I'm still waiting for my disability to kick in. So now I have to play the game today with the weight of the world apon me!! Somedays being a grown up sucks. That is all.
