I do that I even put 2 cards in each pocket. But I stick one stamp on it and drop it in the outgoing box.
Now If its two top-loaders and every pocket have two cards, I go to the counter. Show them it can bend and say post it the cheapest way. it's always under $2.
3 or more top loaders are a small yellow envelope.
Why pay for the weight and stiffness of a cereal box when the top loader it doing all the work of keep the cards safe, It had gaps where it can flex between the cards and go through the rollers. Just fold down the top first and then the bottom up, so all the opens are not exposed and write the trade ID # on the paper.

What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)

I just mailed a PWE that has 22 cards in it. Because it exceeded the 50g limit, it was more than twice as much in postage had it been under. So for the sake of 4-6 extra cards, the cost gets economically unfeasible. When trading in PWE, at least with Canadian members, try to keep your trade requests to multiples of 15 - 18 depending the card types (Sportflix obviously weigh more). Happy to trade but not when I am paying more for commons than I would at a flea market.

Stop going to the post office. Buy a digital scale. Buy some 70¢ non-machinable stamps and 15¢ second-ounce/surchage stamps. Read the guidelines at usps.com. Use the price calculator at usps.com and do it all yourself.
Or better yet, find a post office that has a self-service kiosk. The kiosks ask the same questions as the on-line price calculator.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I wrestle more with the 1/4" thickness limit more than anything. I don't mind adding a few additional 15cent stamps for the extra weight, but I'm always concerned someone at the PO is going to say that envelope is > 1/4 inch and make the recipient pay the extra postage.

I've heard of instances where "postage due" was put upon the recipient, but my only experience with insufficient postage has been from a sender to whom his package to me was returned to him for additional postage.
I'd suggest expanding PWEs to incude more than just the standard 3.5 x 5 and 3.5 x 11.5 envelopes and start including small business envelopes as the max size for the letter category is 6.5 x 11.5 inches. That should help distribute the cards to be within the 1/4 inch thickness.
