I have a math book that was signed by Larry Bird and Kevin McHale. I was flying from Logan for Thanksgiving in 1985, and the Celtics were in the next gate over. The math book, which I had purchased for the trip home, was the only thing I had handy that would work for an autograph. I had to get Larry Legend's signature, and since he happened to be sitting with McHale I was able to get two future HoFers to sign my math book. :)

Phillies 1964 World Series ticket.

I saw the best cards of my generation destroyed by creases, soft cornered hysterical edge wear, dragging themselves through the hobby shops at dawn looking for a top loader...

Most of the day, I was thinking to myself that I didn't have anything that strange in my collection. But Uncorrected Error's response made me realize that I kind of did.
Sitting right next to me are three tickets to the Army vs. Notre Dame lacrosse game that was scheduled for April 11, 2020 at Notre Dame. These tickets arrived about three days after the ACC announced they were cancelling all sporting events for the spring of 2020 due to COVID-19. I also received a refund (a whopping $32 that they could have kept and I wouldn't have even noticed...).
I was supposed to go with my dad and two of my uncles, hence the three tickets I still have - my dad took his too, and I plan on giving the other two to my uncles as well, when the opportunity arises.
Not that strange, I suppose, but quite a story for an $8.00 ticket (aside from the story of what kind of ticket only costs $8.00 these days).

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

In no longer in my collection but, the night before the 1991 Daytona 500 me and some friends from Embry-Riddle snuck into the Daytona International Speedway and stole a DIS orange cone and a green Skoal penant Harry Gant 33 I think. The cone was a great conversational piece in our dorm for the rest of the semester. I had the penant for a while but no idea where it went. It was a really stupid thing to do because that was when Desert Shield was going on and security was heightned.

Can't really compete. I suppose I can go with my 1984 World Series t-shirt of the Chicago Cubs, which my daughter still wears all the time and adores. For non-baseball historians, the Cubs did not actually go to the 1984 World Series, blowing a two-game lead in a best of five series, in part because they lost home field advantage because Wrigley Field didn't have lights, so the t.v. people wanted the non-weekend games to be in San Diego. And Leon Durham's ground ball problem....
I have a few empty boxes of (Anthony) Rizzos cereal...
