Nope, his is 2nd highest. There is one higher. Good guess though.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Rick Sutcliffe, but with an asterisk. His ERA for the whole year was higher than Clemens, but he won the NL Cy Young. His NL ERA for the year was much lower. He spent part of the year in Cleveland and got hit hard.

A man has to have goals — for a day, for a lifetime — and that was mine, to have people say, "There goes Ted Williams, the greatest hitter who ever lived."

LaMarr Hoyt is correct. 3.66 for the 1983 White Sox, which is slightly higher than even Sutcliffe's combined 1984 ERA of 3.64 . Your turn KMack.

Too easy. George Brett in 1976, 1980, 1990.

Brett was the second name I thought of for your question after remembering the first name didn't win one in the 60's.
So my question is: What player led the league in BA 7 times in the 40's & 50's? (pretty easy one here)
Bonus: How many years in a row did he lead the league during that span?

I know I'm right, but I'm going to bed and will be gone all day tomorrow (college football: Michigan Wolverines vs Indiana Hoosiers). Spaz, take the honors and ask another question so this thread doesn't get buried.
Edit: I'm also aware that I missed the bonus. I looked it up after my guess.
