Not Musial. He is a Hall of famer who led the league in home runs 3 times.

Jim Rice is correct, Sousafly. He won the MVP in 1978 with 15 triples, 46 homers, and 139 RBI. Your turn.

I never would've guessed Jim Rice! I guessed Musial b/c I know he is high on the career triples list and led the league in RBI at least twice.

Shoot, just going to bed! Do I have to stay up to watch for the correct answer? If so, I defer to you, nyg...
Who was the winning pitcher in the game that ended the A's now second-longest AL winning streak?

You don't have to wait for someone to post answers. Just reply to the answers posted when you get a chance. First one to get it right gets to post the next trivia question.
My guess is Nolan Ryan (although that seems too obvious of a choice to me).

Good guess, nope.
Hint: He pitched a 9 inning shutout. He was also the losing pitcher to the A's 5 days earlier.
(First question that popped into my mind because I was at both of those games! And it's a bit timely).

My other guess was going to be Roger Clemens. After that, I'll need to think harder.

Nope. Hint: There wasn't much mentioned about this in "Moneyball".

Nope. Zito was still pitching for the A's at that time.
Bonus: The losing pitcher was later killed when his plane struck a NYC high rise. Who was he?
