Working on fixing up the names in non-sports. This man, who was hanged for being a pirate on June 11th, 1725, is the first I've done with a definitive death date. When I enter it in, I am getting an "invalid date" message. First I've seen that. Any ideas? Is that coming up because his birth date is unknown?

I'm wondering if 1725 just falls outside the parameters set up for BD/DD on the site.  Baseball started in 1876, so they may have assumed that dates in the 1700's weren't needed?

Must be a more recent glitch. George Washington has dates of 1732 and 1799 already in the system. But when I tried updating his birthplace I got the same "invalid date". And I didn't touch the dates that were already in there.

I've had similar issues with some historical persons updating the DOBs. Among other things, the current system does not seem to accept dates below 100, which affects some Roman emperors for example. Perhaps there should be a "remote" or "historic" option similar to the current fictional option that will "clear" an entry with incomplete dates for persons born prior to x date, maybe 1500, 1700, 1800? Just a thought.

Send a message to Admin.  When the DOB/D option first started a couple years ago, the first guy I tried adding was someone like Ty Cobb, who was born before 1900.  I couldn't do it.  I messaged Admin, he did something behind the scenes that fixed it, and it worked after that.  Maybe something got switched back in a recent update.

I've sent an error message to Admin. Per my tests, the system is currently glitching for all dates prior to 1753.

I brought this up a couple of weeks ago too. I've been fixing some of the non-sport stuff too and I run into the problem of not being able to add new data unless I delete the dates already in there. 
Side note: kind of wish we could enter dates as just year or month/year in addition to full dates because some of these historical figures don't have firm birth and death dates
