I'm trying to put together the checklist for this set, and have come across something that I want to get others' opinions on.

According to Cardboard Connection the set should be 50 cards. Beckett has only 49. COMC doesn't have that many in their listings, sold out or for sale.

The missing card between Cardboard Connection and Beckett is Johnny Manziel. They list his card as FA-JM, which is the same card number as Jordan Matthews. A scan of the Matthews card is visible on COMC so that is right.

I have not seen the back scan of the Manziel card but a seller that I have dealt with before has it listed on eBay as card FA-JM, and they have always been accurate when I've dealt with them in the past.

Should I put Manziel in the checklist, and just put FA-JM for both Matthews and Manziel? That seems to be the way to go, but I'm surprised that the card doesn't show up on the Beckett listings.

Some players are not listed in all the insert sets. You can check the MFR site for their listing, also Cardboard Connection has been putting the excel print run link on their page which comes from the MFR. From there you can also do searches like you did on COMC, eBay, etc...I'd help ya but I'm out of the country on travel.

There has been some duplication on the numbers in the letter based sets. I would list them both with the same number. It could always be changed later if something different comes up.

tonym, I am aware of that. But I found a copy of the missing card on eBay, just not showing its back, but from a dealer that I've bought from and has been accurate at listing card numbers in the past. I believe the card exists in that insert set.

Billy, you're right, and that is how I was leaning. I think I will post it like that and if someone comes up with a card to post that can change things, then they can change things. I think I will have to look at picking up the Manziel card so I can scan and include it.

Have you contacted the seller of the card and asked for the numbering (lettering?) on the back? or even a scan of the back?

Could they be listed here as JM1 and JM2 to differentiate?

I think we're trying to get our listing more accurate by listing exactly what is on the card. There is another thread about Finest cards that have some letter prefixes which are not on the card - and that they confuse people. There's no need for us (TCDB) to follow Beckett's numbering schemes that are inaccurate.
