2015 Topps Update Baseball Forum

In the update set there are the gold border cards and another set that look similar to the Pride and Perserverance cards but without that logo.  Anyone else see these and know what the set is called?

Per Cardboard Connection, they are called throwbacks and are a variation.  I have been able to pull 2 from the limited packs I have opened.  As I asked in a previous thread, some of these cards are variations from series 1 and 2, and was wondering where these variations will be listed.  They come in the update packs but some are numbered with players from previous series and actually have tiny print over the num,ber stating theyare update series.

These also seem to be distributed through retail stores with 25 cards listed from Walmart packs and 25 through Target.

My guess would be they get entered into the database under the Update set as an insert set. But someone should ask Admin his/her/their opinion(s).

There is a variation card in the Update set for Alex Gordon. It is numbered 456, the same as his base card in the Topps series 2 issue. It says Update on the back over the number. Should this be listed in the 2015 Topps set or the Update set? I think there are a few other players they did this for also.

My opinion would be that these are listed as a variation set within the Update set.  They are only available in retail packs for Topps Update and a handful of the 50 card set are variations of the Update cards.
