So many members wanted to see a separate listing for a Factory set vs the regular set because of the noticeable VAR in borders and even more so, on the back in Career Highlights.  So the site has created a parallel set listing yet it remains minimally populated with images.  If I had a Factory set, I would start scanning but my 3 sets are hand-collated so I don't know which cards are from which set.

Our resident "do-it-all" (if he had 48 hours in a day) has said that eventually he will get around to scanning these cards from a Factory set that he has intact.  But we all know that his time is much more valuable on this site in the many other things he does including (very much so) resolving the many Inaccuracy Reports we all submit.  I would very much like to see someone with maybe a little less experieince on the site and who doesn't have the Permission Levels required to do so much more, to take on the task of scanning and uploading this Factory set.  But to do so, it is vitally important that:

1. You own a true factory set and it is not a "Factory set" you bought that was already opened at the time of purchase. (If you know you bought it as a factory set and it has stayed intact, that should be good enough.)

2. Obviously, you will need a scanner.  If you don't have permission to approve your own scans, what a better way to gain this permission.  Maybe Admin could speed your permission up by looking for your scans first and foremost.  Some experienced members would also help you should you need advice to perfect your scans.

There are almost 2,000 points available here for newcomers to the site.  Better yet, here is an opportunity to gain the experieince in uploading scans as well as contributing to the site.  If you can take this on (more than one could help in it), please sign up through this thread.  Experienced members will help with the initial scans in getting them approved and uploaded.

If I can find a cheap sealed set locally I will take this on. I think the shipping alone is more than I’m willing to pay for one of these. I assume we are going to go through this with 91 as well at some point. Possibly 90?

From what Dan says, 1989 to 1991 I believe.  But I do have the 1989 Factory set and I think the other 2 as well and the 1987 set.  I just don't have the 1988 Factory set.  And yes, shipping would be more than the set is worth.  I can't believe though that Dan is the only one who has a Factory set intact.  Maybe he is sitting on a gold mine.

Let's focus on one set here. Three months have passed and the FS is only 5.4% complete with images. I thought there was a HUGE call for these sets to be added. Guess not, but then, when we start talkimg about one, all of a sudden, all the others begin to be asked about. And yes, I have mentioned in at least one other thread that I was planning on adding the 88-91 sets. The 87 set difference (and possibly earlier ones) was simply the orientation of the back in relation to the front.

The 1988 Factory Set appears to only be a goldmine in relation to the value added on TCDB.

I was not trying to imply that the other sets need to be done now. Only that if and when they’re done we will probably have the same issue getting someone to load the images

I'll check locally (NJ) to see if my LCS has a factory set. If so, I believe he has those for about $10. I can handle that. BUT, it won't be until my next trip up here and possibly toward the tail end of it, say either Jan. 30-31. I'm winding down my current trip here, but I won't have a vehicle during business hours until next trip. Life is just complicated when you're trying to have fun.

Sadly, I fall into the verified FS on hand, but do not have a scanner category... Would love to help as getting a HC set for this and 91 are on my goal list

I found a set locally that's still sealed. I should be picking it up tomorrow then I will start adding. If anyone else wants to help PM and we can coordinate who does what numbers. 

I have a bunch of cards from this set but I don't know which version they are, so I can't list them either way.
