I'd like to fix this checklist and need some advise on how to do it. This set has 201 different athletes, the cards in the checklist are labled with a print run aka (PR20). The problem is the print run total is the actual number of cards per athlete and every card is different. That being said the first name on the checklist is Al Kaline PR20. There should be twenty Al Kaline cards in the checklist. My first question is how do I list them...
NNOa Al Kaline
NNOb AL Kaline
NNOc Al Kaline
Etc. Etc. Etc...
Would this be correct? (This new checklist would bring the total card count to 3,468)
The second question I have is, can I override the existing checklist with a new one. In other words (im not an L8), but if I create a new Excel sheet and edit the checklist will it override the old one?

First off, the system doesn't support NNOa, NNOb, etc.
Second off, the cards are printed without the sketches, and there are 20 of them. What the various artists do after that is irrelevant. It's like having a separate listing for every autographed card by anyone because each signature looks different, or for each serial number because the number is different on each card.
The listing is correct as it is. If you have a different sketch card that already scanned in, then simply add the card to your colection, and under the Collection Summary area, you can add images for your own personal card.

First off, it's not like listing the same autograph multiple times, each card is ACTUALLY different.
Second off, I though TCDb wanted to be accurate, guess i was wrong.
It's funny how all the L8 are always complaining about doing all the work and when someone tries to help they get belittled!

I've never hear L8s complaining about doing the work. I've only heard them complain about fixing work that was clearly not done in accordance with site guidelines.

I don't see anyhting in Dan's post that disparages you, bzjr68, he has simply explained the logic behing the cataloging system that is in place.
If you feel that the current understanding of these cards is flawed, please feel free to post pictures and explain how each one is different off the printing press.

- No, it is the same - both are alterations to the card after the printing process.
Second off, I though TCDb wanted to be accurate, guess i was wrong.
- We do strive to be accurate - and we have rules and guidelines in place to ensure that we get there in the proper manner.
It's funny how all the L8 are always complaining about doing all the work and when someone tries to help they get belittled!
- I'm sorry, but first, where did I complain about doing "all the work" (ever?, not just in this thread), and second, I am really unsure how my post in any way, shape, or form belittles you. Really. Honestly. I know that I can sometimes be sarcastic (and I'm working on that), but anything I've written in this thread has not been that. Please help me better myself and explain how my original post belittles you. I am honestly interested in understanding my flaws. Thank you.

To answer the question from the original post regarding uploading a checklist over an existing one: no, that's not possible.
There is a certain level of permissions (and forgive me, I don't know which one it is off the top of my head) that allows you to append a checklist, and add lots of cards at once. But the original checklist remains. The only way to remove it is to submit an IR - but an IR just to delete a checklist is only possible once all images have been removed. I think you can delete one with collection info, but obviously that isn't advised.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Jason, it's Level 8 where you can append a checklist (you have to be able to get to the "insert Card" page to see it).
Yes, a checklist can be deleted with collection info, but that, like image removal, requires Admin's approval as the final step, it is also not recommended and is only really there for checklists that duplicate another one and the collection info matches in both sets.

Thanks Dan. I couldn't remember if appending was L7 or L8. And I know sometimes what can and cannot be done as far as deletion goes can also vary on the type of release or the contents of the checklist

Starting your comment with first off, second off felt belittling to me, whether you think so or not. The reason I started this thread was to ask if that format would be correct. This is not the first time in a thread that you skipped over my initial question to flex your authoritative muscle. You finished by stating the checklist is correct, basically it is what it is. My question is whether it is correct, and who said it was correct? You? Maybe I’m being over sensitive and the problem is me not you, but if I think the checklist is wrong and should be revised why rule me out instantly? No questions, no debate on why I think it should be changed? I don’t think your issue is sarcasm, it’s definitely authoritative in nature. I realize you’ve been here for many years and I respect that, but that doesn’t make you the end all be all. Please show some compassion when answering questions, it goes a long way.
