The checklist updates have been made. If you have any cards that the committee was not able to verify, please send an e-mail to me (my user name here at gmail) with a scan or hi-res photo of the front and back of the card. Please limit it to one card per e-mail. Once verified, it will be added.

This'll be fun...the checklist is unsorted and my FS cards are all listed as pack border cards. NOT COMPLAINING as I contributed (I think) to this. Good times going through and making sure everytihing is in the right place. Of course, I still need to do it for 91D, 92/93UD hockey (holograms) etc so good times!!

Oh, and thank you Dan for once again heading up a major project. Take a breather......

Yes, all the cards already listed here are now marked as the "Pack border". (Or in some cases Pack border 1.)

Please, please, please allow KMack to submit the images for the Factory set that he opened ONLY for this project. He truly deserves that level of respect here. (THis isn't direct at anyone in particular, this is aimed at everyone!)

This checklist was 10 times harder to put together than the 1989 set's was. To give you an idea of what was involved, allow me to show you the "scrap paper" I used, in conjustion with the 6 tabs in a spreadsheet, the Google Docs sheet, and the folder full of the front images of the factory set (provided by KMack):

And no, I don't expect anyone to be able to read that, but you'll see separate sections for the 2 Ryan special cards, one the Baines All-Star card, and the other cards that wound up being "different". See, there was no way I could add the factory set as version "e" or "f" because in some cases, there are only 2 versions of a card (FC being version [b], and with the checklists and the birthdate errors, the FS version was already here), and in the Baines AS case, it's version [f]. The majority seemed to be [c], but there were plenty of [d] & [e] versions in there as well.

Another wrinkle in this set was the handling of double-printed cards. Some, but not all, of them had a second packed-out border pattern, giving them a total of 3 borders.

Prepping the checklist already here, and fixing the excel file took almost all of my spare time over the last 4 days. This was a beast. (By way of comparison, the 1989 one took about 1.5 days.)

So, please, no one complain. Yes, it's a pain to not have the collection precise, but at least we have it listed properly NOW.

Now to find those cards I was the only one to have and get them scanned in before I trade them away. :)

Amongst all the DONRUSS sets through years, How are you Collating?

1. By separate sets: ex 1990 DONRUSS Var a etc

or

2. All to together ex. 1990 DONRUSS Master Set Var. a-? c, d, e, f whatever is the final letter used

Except for the cards I'm trading away to 1 specific member, I haven't re-sorted the 1990s.

And just for the record, I didn't forget about the Bonus MVP's set. My eyes just needed a break. I hope to get to them in the next couple days.

Bravo Dan.  No complaints from me.  I'll just be sure I don't start adding any 1990 to my collection until I know your project is complete. 

By the way, are there any other sets I should put off entering into my collection, because something like this may go on with those checklists?  I'm starting from zero so I got plenty to add all over the place. 

I'd rather not talk about other sets in this thread, I want to keep it strictly 1990 Donruss. I have sent you a PM regarding any other sets that will undergo major additions.

The base set here IS complete. Well, as complete as we know it. Surprisingly, no one has informed us yet of any version of a card we missed adding! I'll be handling the BC MVPs in a couple days.

Here's a suggestion: For any of these sets that have issues, make mention of it on your profile page that you have it properly updated. I'll do that when get home tonight.
