I might have just been seeing things (getting old so it happens), but wasn't there a a VAR on the Mark McGwire #15 card that had a spot on the pant and then one that did not?? I have both cards. Am I missing something?

Could have been a bogus VAR that was actually just a printing glitch and has been removed by Admin.

Tide To Go sticks will take that spot off his pants.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

But Beckett and PSA don't recognize it as a variation. And if you look at the graded comc.com listings, nothing about "spot" or "no spot" on the grading company label.

Maybe something got on the printing plate during the printing? I zoomed in on some of the "no spot on pocket" cards at COMC and there seems to be a trace of something on some of them around that area, or a "faded" spot. Maybe that is just my imagingation.

I was going through my 1990 Fleer cards and and seen this under the forums for the set. I have multiple of the the McGwire with the spot on the leg, and I have on without the spot. The two links above show the same cards I have. But if you look at the backs at the lower right. The one with the mark on the leg it has "U.S.A.", and the card without the mark or (cover up) has "U.S.A". I have found about 200 cards in my boxes that are missing dot after the A. My Cal Ripken error card has U.S.A and the other error cards have the dot. So is there going to be a Var. of U.S.A. and U.S.A in the future? Thanks

It is a re-occuring printing error. The site does not track re-occuring printing errors for other things with few exceptions.
Famous ones, like 1962 Topps green tint errors doesn't seem to have a checklist but 1982 Topps blackless errors do.
There are tons of re-occuring printing errors on cards that aren't tracked here at all. I guess Admin decides on what is good and what isn't.

Are you saying the 62T Green Tints aren't listed? If you look at the set you'll Green Tints listed as VARs. The 82T Blackless are listed as a standalone, but both are in here.
