I guess it's too much to hope that this just represents a mock-up and not the final deal....
That's what I'm holding out hope for, but since we're about 10 days from these being on store shelves I fear that's not likely. I'll reserve judgement until I can see a card of a player with a few years of service. Is it Topps' doing to let this leak and then have everyone rejoice when most cards have 5 years of stats?

I don't like the team names having a red background. Makes sense on the angels cards and even the cubs cards mocked up, but seeing it on the yankees cards is not a welcome distraction. Should have been a team based color.
The Astros have a gold background. Think that will be the only team with that to represent the WS?
They have done similar in the past with groups of teams having different color team backgrounds, so i guess I just don't like the red.

This is for a Rookie card. Topps has been doing this for RC cards since at least 2002 where they show last year's stats on the minors with a total minors at the bottom. I don't think this would represent the back of any of the veterans. I also hope they go back to complete year by year statistics on the back. Looking forward to a back sample of a veteran.

Agreed. Unfortunately this was the only sample back I could find (Thanks to Billy). I think the stats will be presented the same as the were last year.

My question would be this though. Why would they put an * where the club name would go just to put the club name down below everything. Seems like a waste of space to begin with and counter to old tradition (if that means anything here) of putting the club name on the line whether it was major or minor leagues.

I think 2018 Topps looks awesome. I just hope they put complete statistics on the back.

It looks like TOPPS is either getting lazy or affraid to change like they did back in mid 1950's but the they hit it over the fence and off the roof with 1957. I love that set because of all the pictures in Ebbetts Field or Yankee stadium.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

When asked about the backs on their Instagram, Topps did say that the backs will be like last year.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Ugh! Still not gonna stop me from buying the cards, but I hate having only part of the stats there. Plus, having the social media tags on there is stupid as well, take that off and put the full stats on please!
