I magnified the image and it is definitely a '5' (1975). There are noticable differences in the number between the '75 and '76 cards.

Not yet - I was hoping for some insight through the forums. I feel like I "abuse" the e-mail system here as it is. :) (Over 4500 sent messages and I clean it out occassionally.)

The problem is, when the original card was Noted as ERR and a second card was added as COR, the cards already marked in people's collections were not transferred to the COR version. I have now only moved mine to the COR version because Dan messaged me asking about it. No, I do not have one of the "ERR" versions, in my honest opinion because it does not exist. It is a "6" that is blurry. If the blown up picture is accepted then we also have a VAR of it that the "7" is incomplete.
I do have two of the "1990" error cards for trade once it is listed.
Back to my hole...

Did the member that posted the scan really have the card or did he copy it from the web and that person did a little PHOTO SHOP to it. He might of been playing a harmless prank to someone and now years later we are involved.
If he did, this reinforces or site's rule about only post scans of cards in hand

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

No Robert. When the card was scanned that is now marked as ERR, there was no ERR and COR card. It is only recently that someone decided that there was an error, added the Note and added another COR version. If we base our judgement on scans from 6 years ago, we will have a lot of ERR and COR version cards showing up.

But we still haven't had confirmation of a "1875" sighting. COMC doesan't have any, Beckett doesn't acknowledge any variation (they list it as an UER for the 1990 version), and there are none on ebay.
If no one has one, how the heck can it exist?

I had an idea, so I checked the Robin Yount and Dennis Eckersley cards from this set. The numeral on the back matches the Eckersley more closely than the Yount. Eckersley is 1976. Yount is 1975. Both are HOFers so their cards are quick to find using the HOF link on the left side of the set. Anyone else try this yet?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
