2018 Topps Living Baseball Forum

I’m reading on the back of my topps living cards where topps ask a question of some kind. Often the answer is another player or about another player. Do people who collect cards of their favorite players want to know who is talked about in the question. Is that helpful to that type of collecting? I don’t collect cards of a certain person so it’s not an issue for me but seeing how often the answers are that of a player just thought someone would want that info added to our living set in some type of searchable way. Don’t know if there is already a way to add this or anything about the site’s functionality. Just thought it an interesting topic for discussion.

Brad, I meant to post on your thread when I saw.  Not so much about the current set you speak of but the 1972 Topps set has similar issues where I believe the IA cards sometimes speak of another player on the back.  I know I have a back that is of Bob Gibson but he is not the player on the front.  The card on this database is not in anyway linked to Bob Gibson.  I personally think it should be.  I will have to look at my cards to confirm if it is the IA.  But I must run now.  Back later if no one has confirmed which card I speak of yet.

So if an actual photo of a player on a card doesn't get linked, why if the player is mentioned?

Agreed with Dan.  We have wrestling sets already done this way, and I need to take the time to correct those. Just because a Stone Cold card mentions that he beat The Rock, if The Rock isn't even in the picture, it shouldn't show up as a card of The Rock.

Shouldn't it at least be linked to Gibson? I have the O Pee Chee version in my Gibson collection.

Not quite sure if this is the same thing being asked, but under Level 3 of permissions the first line states that " the person named on the card is the one that should be associated with the card. 

I know it would probably open the door to what we absolutely don't want but in my example, the story is about Gibson, no one else.

I have never linked the card to Gibson because it is a slippery slope but I do have it in my Gibson collection (and it would not surprise me that I am not the only one).  Why Topps did this is beyond me as I cannot see any rhyme or reason to the front and back being together.
