1951 Buybacks

In case you haven't read the sell sheet for this product, Topps is buying back 5 of each red back/blue back, sticking them in a frame to make them standard size, and numbering them out of 5. I feel like a "ITG Vault" style set of packs of all buybacks with fake SNs is just around the corner.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Topps again ruining vintage and hurting all of us trying to chase them down. Nothing like false scarcity for some things already hard enough to find. Isn't that exactly what Topps Archives Signature does? I agree with you on the "fake SNs" sentiment here either way.

So they're already doing it and I didn't realize! I knew of that product but wasn't real sure what it was.

And here I am sitting (not actively pursuing) a Gus Zernial (don't care which VAR) to complete the 52 card Red Back set. Well 5 less available for that I guess
