Still not interested in these cards, but I had a few questions I forgot to ask before. Are the Recollection Collection cards only from Panini/Playoff Honors sets? Or are they just random cards from any Panini or Playoff release? How are these actually being put into the market? Unless there are original Playoff Honors cards in the mix, the whole thing sounds stupid to me personally. Even then, it's still pretty useless and unnecessary.
Panini really needs to stop chasing Topps! At the same time, Topps is forcing Panini to keep chasing them. Panini wants the entire industry (especially the MLB) and has driven several companies out of business with their relentless attempts to get exclusive licenses. If they eventually get the MLB license and/or an NHL license, the rest of the sports-licensed-card world in North America is done! And then the rampant unlicensed card industry rebounds as collectors retailiate against the "big brother". It's happened before and it will happen again. We are all just sitting here waiting for it to come around again, even if you don't know that you are waiting for it. There's a good reason that Broder and QVC made a ton of money back in the late-80's and early-to-mid 90's and this will be completely different. It won't be prospectors this time, it'll be the true collectors that want something different. Printing and packaging is SO MUCH easier and cheaper than it was back then! And photo processing has never been easier than it is now.
Honestly, I bet there are a half dozen members on this site alone that could get together and make a mass-produed un-licensed set and distribute it throughout North America and people would collect it just as much as they would be interested in Topps and Panini products.
A bit of a rant here (my bad), but I only have two final things I want to say. I like the Optic cards, even when spread across different releases. But I don't like how the popularity of those cards is making Panini keep making more of them in more sets. And I don't like how lame the Topps Gold parallels have gotten for the past few years. You don't even know they are Gold's until you see the SN now!
NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. No trades or purchases right now.
