I've just got a few cards, but I started loading them onto the 2010 Topps Prime Football until I got to #20 Colt McCoy where it's an SN, but not what I have. I found it on 2010 Topps Prime Retail, but I can't tell the difference between the sets. (Not with the McCoy card because the front is also different.) Any help?

The retail were not serialized... not all the hobby base were serialized either. if you have a SN999, its the base hobby

I guess McCoy was a bad example to use. What about #s 14, 93, and 146? Their cards in both sets are the same and neither has an SN associated with it on the base set.

I have continued challenges with distinguishing base hobby vs retail in many football issues, not just this one
I feel your pain....

Yeah, Mark, I just found some more of the same with 2013 Topps Prime. I can't tell the difference, but also with the 2013 retail set it says on 50 cards, but there are more than that shown.

If it's anything like 2013 Topps Strata, I'm pretty sure the veterans (100) are exactly the same in hobby and retail. The difference was only found on the rookies (50) where they had different poses on the front between the two.

Sigh. Thanks for the info. If that's the case I'm just logging as retail since I only have a handful and the McCoy was from the retail. Apologies in advance for inaccurate logging if you end up with these in a trade from me.

2010 Topps Prime was an interesting release. The packs reminded me of the apple pie boxes you got at McDonalds. The main difference between Hobby and retail in 2010 was card stock. The hobby version was on thicker card stock and retail was normal thickness. I can remember this because it was a pain to collect the base set. And I believe retail rookies were not numbered.
