A collector contacted me about adding some cards that he had from a "Diamond Edition" parallel of the 1990 Pro Set set.
If this is a legit parallel, can someone upload the checklist so that this person can mark the cards he has as being in his collection?
Thanks.

No these are not legit. These are aftermarket foil stamping. Same as the Gem Collection crap on ebay. And it seems all being sold by Burbank Sports Cards. A deceitful way of selling worthless Junk Wax cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

These cards are made by Masterpiece Collectables. I do believe this company must have some kind of licence to make these.
If they do not, then something should be done.
I have 6 Thurman Thomas cards that are Diamond Edition 1/1.

I would also like to add that each card came with a "certificate of authenticity", and states right on it that,
This card, and other cards in this collection are produced after-market and this product is not associated with
any card manufacturers of the cards to which the 1/1 logo has been applied. The card/logo combination is neither
sponsored nor endorsed by any card manufacturers noe the athletes depicted.

The "something" you refer to is "simply not buying them". There are no laws about not being able to re-sell trading cards. All they did was stamp them first. They don't need a license for anything because they aren't producing anything.

But isn't that saying they authenticate they have taken someone else's work and have modified it without their consent and without any licensing? I'm no expert but it sounds like a copyright infringement to me. Unless the original cardmaker never had copyright or an actual license which I believe is the case with some manufacturers.
At best it is an aftermarket modifcation to a card. I could do a foil stamp on a card and say it is a 1/1.
I realize I know little on the issue and they may be well within their rights to do whatever they do but from my business dealings I have found often people infringe copyrights and licenses knowing it is unlikely the other company will take action due to the costs involved.

I could do a foil stamp on a card and say it is a 1/1.
That is all that needs to be said. I could take one of my extra 1987 Topps sets (I have several and I do love them) and hand write "1/1" and emboss each with some stupid stamp and sell the entire set as a 1/1 set.
I'm not sure of the legality of that. I think Topps could (and might) sue. (And I think they'd be right to!)

OK, with all this said. Then can it also be said that after this Masterpiece Collectables stamped these cards and authenticated them that they would be worth something or at least be reconized for there are so many out there, and as far as I can see, none have been duplicated, there are only 1/1 of these cards out there.
I mean since no laws have been broken and they are not made illegally, right?
That is what is being said here right?
No wrong is being done, so I believe they should be reconized!
