The subject set's first 27 cards are the same as the 27 cards of this set: http://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/127866/1978-SSPC-New-York-Yankees-Diary
The Yankees and the Phillies cards of this set were released in their own magazine issues while the other 8 teams were released in the "All Star Gallery"magazine, one team per issue. I actually have the Phillies magazine with cards intact.
Should this individual Yankees' set be deleted? Should the Phillies' set be treated as its own set like the Yankees' set? And shouldthe first 54 cards of this set be deleted? Or further yet, should each team be treated as its own set?
And by the way, the title of the set "1978 SSPC 270" is not what I see it referred to. I think 1978 SSPC All Star Gallery" is more fitting.

I'm using Bru's OP to continue the thread because I believe there's an issue that probably needs correcting. I'm updating the link as he initiated the OP when we were working under the previous site address: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewSet.cfm/sid/127866/1978-SSPC-New-York-Yankees-Diary.
I'm interested because I have two cards that look exactly the same and they came in trades and were logged in different sets:
Neither card shows signs of being trimmed from a magazine, and I'm thinking it belongs to the '78 SSPC 270 set because the teams are apparently color coded, while the Yankees Diary set has a light bluish border on the back; here's a blue back for sale on Ebay, and you can also see the dashed outline where the card would be cut. I haven't been able to find a black back that shows the dashed outline.
So:
- Are there two or more separate sets - this one labeled 270 and the team sets?
- Is it named appropriately?
- Was this 270 set a factory cut set (of individual cards, not panels)?

There is a difference. The Yankee Diary has a blue upper back. The SSPC 270s are black.

More specifically, I have several cards from both sets including Rivers with both blue and black backs. Blue - Yankee D. Black - SSPC270.

Now I dont know if I'm repeating or being helpful here, but all of my my blue backed (whatever you want to call them) have a dashed line along the bottom but dont look like they've been cut or otherwise removed from a magazine.

And to not shut up. The dashed line along the back bottom of the blue backs lines up with the border of the photo on the front of card so that if the dash was cut along there would be no border outside the photo. Also the blue backed cards with the uncut dash are the same size (ie not larger than) any standard sized card (ex. Matches in size with my 78' Topps.)
Had enough yet?

U get 1 more. My blue backs do not have the MLB logo that you see next to the SSPC on the black backed cards.

AND.....look at the NY Diary set and compare White with Lyle or Piniella and then compare those three with Chambliss. U'll see the difference and then (I guess) wonder what the person who posted them was doing or trying to do.

Pretty sure the Mickey Rivers card with the MLB logo was one of those 1980s TMCA collector's kit reprints.
