I had this (1989 Smokey Bear St Louis Cardinals) set (which is in this data base) and recently picked up a 1987 set (I guess 21 our of 25 cards - They are numberred on the back and I have 25 caqrds with the last one being #25)
Anyway, I dont see it listed in the database. So far I have juts see the 1989 (Cardinals) set in the data base. I have seen other team "Smokey Bear" sets for various years and other odd ball sets (national league, american league, etc..) Just seeking more info about these cards and trying to find what was actually issued.
FYI - they were issued by the US Forrest Service with fire safety tips on the reverse. The '89 cards are about 4"X6" and the '87 cards are 3"X5" (give or take on these as I dont have them in front of me.
Any info, as always os greatly appreciated!
~Patrick
PS - is the a function on this site to receive a message via email when someone replies to reply to thread or comment in the forum???

~ Patrick Please Please Please read my profile before making a trade proposal. My "wants" for my Cardinals collection is accurate from 1900 - 2008. I still have about 12,000Plus Cardinals cards from 2009-present to sort through and enter. Please do not offer any Cardinals cards from 2008-present unless you contact me first as there is a chance I already have it amongst the multitude to still go through. I still have about 30K Cardinals duplicates that are not yet entered in the database as FS/FT. "For the love of the game"

If you have 25 cards you have the complete set. Do you need help creating a set entry or checklist?

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thanks - I just re-read my message and did not realize all the typos and poor grammar. No I was not drunk, but rather created the message on my mobile while I was outside and could not see the screen very well.
Anyway, I am missing 4 cards from the set (#1, #12, #15, #23)
I guess what I am really trying to find out is what years did the Forrest Service issue these types of cards? Did they create them for all teams every year they issued them? How were they distributed (sold, stadium giveaways or what)? etc... In other words any info on these types of cards is appreciated. As mentioned, I had the (Cardinals) 1999 Set which is in the database. I just picked up 21 of the 25 cards for the (Cardinals) '87 set.
Thanks,
Patrick

According to Beckett they were sold by the Cardinals. Your missing cards are #1 Ray Soff, #12 Tom Pagnozzi, #15 Mike Laga, #23 Tito Landrum.

Fortunately no burn marks on them either - so previous owner must have paid attention to the fire safety tips on the reverse lol
