2013 Panini Absolute Football Forum

The majority of the front scans in the checklist are wrong b/c they are the Retail version, including the 'Sample Card'. Someone made the Retail set its own listing, instead of adding as a parallel of the 2013 Panini Absolute set. The hobby version has holofoil covering the front and the retail does not. I reported the incorrect Hobby scans to Admin, but I can't replace most of the scans that will be missing when they move/delete them. I fixed the few RC cards that were wrong but the entire 100-card veteran section has scans. The ones that ARE correct are #'s 14, 15, 28, 39, 41, 54, 71, 93 and 96. Everything else needs to be replaced. I hope some of you folks can help fix this.

If that person was me then I apologise.  I bought a box on eBay (one of two different boxes) and thought I was getting hobby.  Maybe that wasn't the case.  Again, if the perp is me, I apologise.

Dave, you weren't the only one, but most of the scans I saw were from you. The 80-card boxes are retail blasters (4 packs x 10 cards). The hobby box is only 20 cards (4 packs x 5 cards). I'm just glad that I found out before more of the Rookie cards got added. Those would be harder to replace. Rule of thumb for Absolute or Absolute Memorabilia sets (Pacific or Panini brands), if it doesn't have a full holofoil front it is most likely going to be the retail version.

I just want everyone to see accurate info so that they know what they have before adding stuff here in the wrong place. The retail vs. hobby version has always ticked me off. I don't know why the manufacturers keep doing that to us collectors. Topps has been horrible about that for the past few years b/c you can't tell the difference from seeing scans. Thicker card stock and higher gloss on a hobby card doesn't show up in a scan and that's basically been their only difference lately.

Nick, go for it. Your first 5 scans are correct. Thanks for helping get this one right. Now if only Admin will change the "Sample Card".

Hi all, I have changed the images on the base set with the exception on cards 30, 70 and 81. I did not have those ones. I sent a note to ADMIN to remove the front images for those 3.  

Thanks Nick!!! I'd love to get all the retail/hobby versions known here but that is a massive undertaking. Plus, I don't have cards of all of them, just the knowledge of which type they are. I have about 100 more cards to scan in the Racing section and then I'm back into NFL hard. I'm going after the stuff I really know first, but will fix other stuff as I come across it. Basically anything after 2010 is not for me unless it was a continuous difference like Absolute has been. I focused on NASCAR instead of MLB and NFL, when it was down to only Topps and Panini for both sports.
