This is going to be a tough parallel to complete. I have almost 3 complete sets and 4000 commons of 1990 O Pee Chee for trade and from those, I was able to find 39 different cards of the white stock paper. I still have my player collection to go through but I don't expect to increase my total by many.
I am wondering if this is not like the 1991 Topps Dark Logo variation that only had less than a third of the set done with the dark logo (print sheets A&B).

I only found out about them when someone mentioned them in a trade. Looked them up, saw the parallel set and sorted through my traders. Like I said, not many out of 6500+, less than one in 100. Easier to find the 1981 grey back parallel set.

Are the backs pure white, or just a lighter yellow?

The grey shaded areas are much whiter than the regular isue but no where near white. But they are easily identified. I will be scanning and uploading the images I have when I get time, hopefully in the next three days.

So did OPC have a "Tiffany" set then that is being called "White backs"?

I would guess that you are probably right. The question remains whether the whole set is available this way or just 132 cards, or 264 cards, etc.

Well, I have uploaded the 39 cards that I have from this parallel set. 4.9% of images uploaded. A long way to go. Still have to go through many of the stars I collect but doubt if I will find many more. I compared the images to the regular set; not a lot of difference seen by the image. Didn't help as when I did compare them, the first one I looked at was #114. I think the image of the base set is actually of the white paper stock. There are a few other images in the base set that I think are white stock. If you have any 1990 O Pee Chee, you can quickly see those from this parallel as they will show white lines in a stack of regular cards.
