Can somebody who isn't colorblind like me, look at the following two 2015 Topps baseball insert sets: First Home Run Series 2, and First Home Run Silver Series 2, and tell me if there is a difference that I just can't detect? In Series 1, the plain FHR cards were black down the middle, and then there were silver and gold versions too. In Series 2, I was under the impression that Topps only made Silver and Gold, and there was no plain (black) FHR Series 2. The ones listed there look like silver to me, but maybe it's just my eyes. I appreciate any help that can be provided. I HATE when Topps starts over their numbering in Series 2 inserts. They did it again in 2016 with some Series 2 inserts.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I had some trouble with these last summer when I was trying to figure it out too.
The main one I went after was Ruth. There was a plain white, gold, and silver. The way I tried to tell the difference was the back ground, and didn't try to deal with the foil at all. Silver and white are very hard to tell them apart, I would need to find mine to really tell you better. There are 3 versions though.

OK, if there's just white, then I don't have any of those. Thanks for the explanation. I just wanted to make sure the ones I have are entered right, It's only 2 or 3. I'm not pursuing the set. Thank you Doc.

I didn't even know about this so, I looked at my set. First home run Silver this has 1-40 cards like jeter, Next is first home Run White 1-40 cards like Eddie Murray, First Home Run Gold 1-35 series 2 cards like Dustin Pedroia, First Home Run Gold 1-40 cards like Frank Thomas. The difference between the two Gold sets is the background is a bit light than the other. If you place all the cards side by side you will see the difference between silver, white, gold and gold backgrounds.

Mickey, you're saying the checklists aren't the same? Even a colorblind collector like me can grasp that concept!!

not calling colorblind but there are 4 different sets as I posted above. I placed all the cards side by side and you can see the difference and if you are really colorblind then I suggest a friend to help you separate them and mark each set by writing a small stick um on the sleeve of the cards stating what they are.

Do you have a pic comparing the 2 gold cards? Because if it's a simple shade variance, I wouldn't consider it an additional version.

No, I legit am colorblind. I sometimes take a stack of cards to work to ask for help on color. I just misunderstood and thought you were saying the players were different in each color, which wouldn't be a problem for me to figure out on my own.
