BucCollector's Wantlist Top Ten

by BucCollector - 13 cards (Last updated on May 27, 2020)

1. 1910 Tip-Top Bread D322 #25 Forbes Field

Need this to complete my collection of Pirates' ballparks. There's a nice specimen on eBay now at $1,800.

2. 1948 Bowman #38 Buddy Jeannette

This HOF rookie would be the centerpiece of my Basketball Players from Pittsburgh collection, supplanting my 1957-58 Maurice Stokes. (Still need the Maravich rookie.)

3. 1952 National Tea Labels #19 Danny Murtaugh

One of my PCs. Have never seen this card.

5. 1973 Sherbrooke Pirates #NNO Tony Armas

Most of the Pirates of the 1970s didn't have minor league cards. Here's one. I have some of the cards from this set, but not Armas.

6. 1974 Seattle Rainiers #NNO Rick Kuhn

After quitting baseball, Rick Kuhn played basketball at Boston College and was involved in the infamous point-shaving scandal there.

7. 2008 Salute to Columbus Eras #NNO Manny Sanguillen

For my Sanguillen PC. I have several other cards from this set.

9. 2012 Sportkings Series E - Top 50 Broadcasters Cut Signatures #TBC-MH Milo Hamilton

Milo joined the Pirates radio team in 1979 and left a year later. He's got an auto card in the 2012 Panini Cooperstown set, but it's got the Astros logo so it doesn't fit my collection of 1970s Pirates autos.

10. 2015 Panini National Treasures Collegiate - Signatures Blue #81 Dick Groat

May be the only Dick Groat basketball card out there. I have a custom Wheaties card picturing him with the Fort Wayne Pistons.

Would be interested in a backstory of why you want these particular cards. Would they finish sets? Are they tough cards of players you collect?

I'm with switzr1. That's an unusual list. Must go look at your collection now. Curiosity piqued. V3

Very cool. Nice to know why people collect what they collect. Sounds like you have a lot of fun with the hobby!

One of my teachers in high school was Rick Kuhn's older brother. I remember that situation well. All came to be with a few high school buddies of Rick who were "Made" if you know what I mean.

That Forbes Field card is beautiful... I'd love to get that for my ballparks collection..
