One of the "elder statemen" of the Golden Knights, Perron played his 11th NHL season in 2017-18. He appeared in 70 games, scoring 16 goals. He led the team in assists, with 50, and placed third in scoring, in the Inaugural season.

Nate Schmidt is one of two players who appear in my collection for the first time with this team set, which I got on Ebay, arriving 5/21/18. Although not much of a scorer, putting in only 5 during the season (having scored 8 in his previous 4 years with Washington combined) but contributing much more on defense, and with assists

Although Shipachyov is considered an NHL rookie, he has played for 10 years in the KHL. He played only 3 games with the Golden Knights and it did not end well. He balked at being sent to the minors, and refused to report to the Chicago Wolves. After a bit of a standoff with the team, he technically retired, and returned to the KHL, having played in, as noted, 3 games and scoring one goal. He played on the Russian Olympic team during the 2018 games, the only player to have appeared in the NHL during the 2017-18 season and taking the ice in PyongChang, although several more would come to the NHL after the Olympics ended. He appeared in many sets as the main "rookie" of the team, though this is my first card of him.

Max Lagace was not expected to play for the Golden Knights during the 2017-18 season. But early in the season, the Knights lost their top goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury, to concussion. Malcolm Subban came in and played well, before he went down with an injury. Oscar Dansk then took the net, but he too went down with injury in his 4th game. In came Maxime Lagace, called up from the minors. He ended up getting in 16 games, but didn't have the best of luck, posting a 6-7-1 record.
