Summer League Autographs

1. 1991-92 Upper Deck #407 Robert Pack

July 8th 2018

First day of Summer League and the first former NBA player I saw. I saw Mr. Pack sitting a few rows up from me and grabbed my card book with a few of his cards in it. I went up and asked if he would be willing to sign. There were four of his cards on the page. He looks at me and says, " I ain't doing no signing session. Pick one." Of course I went with a Blazer card because they are my team. I thanked him and walked away super stoked that my first Auto of Summer League was a former Trail Blazer.

Robert played for Portland during his 1991-92 Rookie season.

2. 1995-96 Stadium Club - Draft Picks #11 Gary Trent

July 8th 2018

Not long after I got Robert Packs Graph Gary Trent and his family came into the stadium to watch his son play for the Portland Trail Blazers Summer League team. I quickly found my Gary Trent page in my card book and went to work. Gary and his family were very nice and gracious. Gary signed two cards for me, both Blazers cards. I had a Toronto Raptors one and he looked at it and shook his head like, nah not gonna sign that one. Made me laugh a little.

3. 1995-96 Hoops #280 Gary Trent

July 8th 2018

Second card autographed by Mr. Trent. I should say that both of these autos look fairly decent.

Gary played for Portland from 1995-1998

4. 1990-91 Hoops #351 Mike Dunleavy

July 8th 2018

Running theme here with the former Trail
Blazer players/coach's.

Mr. Dunleavy personalized the card to me and actually chatted about old Blazer days and living in Portland. Great coach but an even great person.

Mike was Portland's Coach from 1997-2001

5. 2004-05 Topps Total #410 Elston Turner

July 8th 2018

Nice clean Auto from "Coach". Oh and another former Blazer.

Elston was an Assistant coach for Portland from 1996-2000

6. 2017-18 Panini Prestige #165 Justin Jackson

July 8th 2018

Justin is a really cool dude. Way laid back and a great signer. He was super happy and genuine. This guy has a huge winning personality. I really hope he figures the NBA game out because he has a superstar attitude!

7. 2017-18 Panini Status - Rookie Credentials #14 Justin Jackson

July 8th 2018

If I had actually had more than two cards with me I am sure that Justin would have signed all of them. The two graphs I did get are really decent.

8. 2017-18 Donruss #166 Damyean Dotson

July 8th 2018

I am pretty sure Damyean's whole family was here at Summer League to see him. He was surrounded by a grip of people decked out in Knickerbocker gear. His grandma was hilarious when I got his autograph. She says, "How do you know who my grandson is? Where'd you get his card?" She was all bedazzled out in a sequin Knicks sweatshirt. My buddies and I just said, "He has a card and we collect cards and autographs. We were hoping to get his." The grandma marches us up to Damyean and says, "These gentlemen would like your signature." One of my friends gave an extra Damyean he had to his grandmother so she could have his picture on a basketball card. The whole experience was really funny and yet so down to earth. This was the last auto of the night and certainly the most memorable.

Front Placeholder

9. 1998-99 SkyBox Molten Metal - Xplosion #33 Tyronn Lue

July 9th 2018

A beautiful auto on a really cool card. My goal is to hopefully complete a good portion of this set with in person autos.

Tyronn Lue just signed one card, but it was the card I wanted signed the most.

10. 2015-16 Donruss #246 Cliff Alexander

July 9th 2018

Another Blazer autograph! Cliff is so mild mannered and was really present when he signed. For how young he is he seems like such an old soul. He had a really decent summer league this year and I was surprised a team didn't pick him up.
