The first pack I ever opened. Just an enthusiastic little leaguer with no aims of completing a set, still have pages of these in old binders in random order. The borders will always be ingrained in my head!

This is the first set where I clearly remember buying pack after pack in hopes of landing the coveted Brien Taylor card. I didn't even care about the gold parallel or the scratch-off cards in the packs. Both my father and grandfather helped me collect the set, something I'll never forget.

The design is rather conservative but it isn't really bad.
Swomewhat similar in concept to the 1961
set.

I always remember the scratch-off cards that came with the packs. My younger cousin and I would hold them over a light bulb and you could see the HR logos underneath and scratch a winner every time! I had tons of the redemption packs and tons more I never received from Topps.

After picking up a ton of 90's & 80 cards loose at the flee market a few weeks ago there was enough cards of 1992 topps and 89 Topps to give me a pretty nice start on the sets. I revisit all my own old cards storage vault and now I believe I will finish this 1992 Topps set, as for the 89 topps set I am pretty close to its own completion.

Since I'm on a bit of a buying hiatus, I'm going through all my cards. I'm up to the 1992 set, which I had ranked poorly before. It's a little dull and cheap looking, granted. And there aren't player positions on the front. But real manager cards, with their career records as players and year by year breakdown of their managerial record! And color pictures of the player's home stadium on the back! And the white is clean and readable. It's not that bad a set, really.

I've never been much of a baseball fan - I've always been into hockey. Back then, I was about 8 and already an avid hockey card collector. I would go to town in the summer with my grandmother weekly to attend Church on Saturday afternoons. She'd buy me a couple of packs of these cards before going back home each time. For Christmas that year, she gave me a factory sealed set of these. I spent dozens of hours looking at them, sorting them and getting acquainted to all of these players and figuring out who were the stars. I never got hooked on baseball, but this set - and all of the associated memories - remain very dear to me to this day.

I am a big fan of baseball especially from the 1980's and 1990's. Seeing all these players from those years on these cards brings my love for the game back. I kind of like the effect the cards have with the players looking as if they are coming out of the card towards you.

The first pack of cards that I ever open was of the 1992 Topps Baseball set. I had family that had sports cards in note books and I liked what I saw. I was 11 or 12 years old at the time. In 1992, my stepfather sent me to the store to buy a soda and I seen packs of baseball cards on the counter. I bought a pack for about .50 or $1.00, opened it up when I got home about 2 city blocks away from the store. The last card in the pack was gold and I was flabbergasted. Showed it to my stepfather and he gave me a few more dollars to get a few more packs. I was hook from then, 1992 until now 2013. I have no plans to stop collecting.
