I acquired a jumbo box for the first time from this series, and my impression is indeed of great photo quality on the cards. The cards are simply magnificent, and the set is truly a pleasure for the eyes, both for adults and the younger ones. For fans, it's a card series to absolutely have. However, I have a small piece of advice regarding the JUMBO BOX – be careful. I received two identical cards in every single pack without exception. I couldn't understand if it was a manufacturing defect or if it was intentional, but each time I got two identical cards in every pack. Very strange, isn't it?

This set would've been PHENOMENAL without the white border.

When I got my first few cards of this set in 1993/94 the color photos really jumped at me. Further examination shows each card really has two pictures plus a decent snapshot of each player's statistics on the back. It's a big set (840 cards) with some nice features like top prospects, Diamond Notes from Peter Gammons, and even some nifty checklists. This is probably my favorite set ever and the color photos still stick out and really make the other sets from 1993 pale in comparison from a quality standpoint.

This is my favorite set of baseball cards ever. I was 12 years old when I started to collect them and I still have a special album with these cards. I almost complete the collection. I will try to finish it in the future. I guess I have more than 750 cards. With your amazing work in this website now I can make a proper list and know better which cards I am missing.

Best regards,

Title: All Substance, No Style

The front has a small, team-colored with the name sitting on it in gold. Normally, I don't like signatures printed on the cards but here the names are faux-signatures that are visually appealing. The names are readable and the signature font is consistent throughout each card. Other than the color bar and the gold names, the front of the is plain looking. However, I do like the subtle touch of placing the "Upper Deck" text behind the player image, where it would otherwise overlap. The back of the cards are very generic, which no distinguishing features between different cards other than a tiny solid box with the player's position that has different colors.

A basic looking card overall.

6.5/10

Very nice set with crisp action photos. This set takes you away from the plain wide white borders used on prrevious issues.
