So more fun factoids; A promo sheet, (sent to dealers?) depicted some interesting moc-ups of 8 cards; The front of a base card of Griffey Jr. (actually produced #200), the back of a base card Eric Karros #100, never produced at least with that number for him, (#100 ended up being Dave Winfield, a Cal Jr. Collection insert that was produced across the UD product lines, CC and SP, a Young at Heart subset card of Ozzie Smith, card subset produced #108, with a different photo though, a Future Stock die-cut insert card of Ruben Rivera, never produced for that set (The picture did grace the cover of the Rookie Class subset card in the Collector's Choice set, #20), a Dante Bichette Rockies Power Driven insert card, never produced, a Blue Chip Prospects card double die -cut Hideo Nomo, produced #BC1 just with a differing picture, and last a Predictor Insert Hobby of Albert Belle which was produced, with just another photo on the front, #H1. Quality -Collectability - Involvement - Innovation. | ||
Interesting to note, there were two factory sets for this set this year, The first being a limited edition in a box SN # 15000 (These had 30 additional cards that included an update set) and the second a hard wooden box SN #'d to 5000. |
