I believe this photo is incorrect. The photo is for the card in the 1939-46 Exhibit set.

The card pictured here appears to be from the 1950 edition of Exhibits but there is also a 1949 version with the same misspelling 'Ritchie' and "An Exhibit Card" in the lower left corner.

NNO - Don Blasingame VAR - St. Louis Cardinals

VAR: plain cap

Here again is an example of where the team assignment rules break down. The earlier variation clearly shows Blasingame in a Cardinals uniform. This later variation is the same photo, but with the STL on the cap and the cardinal bird on the jersey both airbrushed out. If it is the same photo, he technically is still in his St. Louis uniform, but they would not bother with the airbrushing unless he changed teams. I am a Cincinnati Reds collector, and I am including this later variation in my collection.

Photo clearly shows the 1939 MLB patch on his sleeve, so he is in a Cubs uniform. But he left the Cubs in 1941 and the oldest this card can be is 1947, his first year in Cincinnati and his last as a full-time player. It seems silly to me to list his card as a Philadelphia A's card. He only played in 12 games for them in 2 months of the 1949 season. It should be a Cubs card because of the photo or a Reds card because it was probably printed in 1947 or 1948.

NNO - Fred Hutchinson - Detroit Tigers

1950

Not sure why this card has "1950" listed with it. It clearly seems to be from the 1948 series as the "MADE IN U.S.A." in the lower right corner is 5/8" long, not the much smaller, 7/16" as was the case in the 1950 series.

NNO - Mickey Mantle VAR - New York Yankees

VAR: batting at waist, white shadow font (AKA "ck" connected), "Printed in U.S.A." in lower right

There is also an earlier variation of this card with the name outlined in white but it has "Made in U.S.A." on the bottom right which means that its highly likely it came out as part of the 1951-53 series - the only years the were printed with that specific designation (with "Made in" printed in upper and lower case letters in the corner). I will submit a scan soon.

NNO - Don Newcombe VAR - Brooklyn Dodgers

VAR: plain cap, plain jacket

Here is an example of where the team assignment rules break down. The earlier variation clearly shows Newcombe in a Dodgers uniform. This later variation is the same photo, but with the B on the cap and the Dodgers script on the jersey both airbrushed out. If it is the same photo, he technically is still in his Dodgers uniform, but they would not bother with the airbrushing unless he changed teams. (They may have airbrushed the B when they moved to Los Angeles, but there would be no need to airbrush out the Dodgers script.) I am a Cincinnati Reds collector, and I am including this later variation in my collection.

NNO - Hank Sauer - Cincinnati Reds

It is hard to differentiate a mostly-covered Cubs cap/uniform from a Reds cap/uniform of the same era. On this Exhibit card, we can see a "2" on the back of the uniform. Hank Sauer was #29 on the Reds, and was #43 and then #9 on the Cubs, so we know he is in his Reds uni in this photo, and thus must be classified as a Red.

NNO - Ed Stanky VAR - New York Giants

VAR: plain uniform; No "An Exhibit Card" in lower left

For this card, you have an "e" in the last name, but it is just Stanky.
