Team Tribute Sets MLB Jay’s Publishing 1962 Old Timers Dodgers, Giants and Yankees by stevejrogers

As far as I can tell, according to this site anyway, these probably are the first “retired” sets that concentrated on specific franchises.

Of course there had been sets released previously featured random, or not so much random (HOF sets, Connie Mack’s All-Time All-Stars) assortment of past stars, as well as sets dedicated to one player (Babe Ruth, Ted Williams (though Williams was active at the time).

But nothing before dedicated to the past of a franchise as a whole, or a specific season or era in team history.

Debut cards for all 1994 first-time major leaguers by Mungo Hungo

Each player's card is from 1994 or the next possible year, except that multi-player cards, game cards and a few other types are skipped over and used only absent other options. Minor league cards are used as a last resort. I own each card pictured. The highly uninteresting rules are in my profile page, linked above.

Cards within budget that I would like to own by vrooomed
Last updated on Apr 7, 2023

These are simply cards that are very cool to own, and won't completely blow the household budget to obtain. Some, based on how they look, some based on who they are. All, simply personal preference. Additionally, one of my "projects" is to get at least one card of the baseball HOFers from during their playing days - provided they appear in a Bowman or Topps set (T-206 and Goudey HOFers would not fit in that "affordable" price range).

This list identifies former Major League Baseball players who played in at least ten MLB seasons and spent their entire playing careers exclusively with the New York Yankees. The list does not include active players.

Some listed players went on to coach or manage with other teams, or may have had minor league appearances with other franchises. Their only MLB experience as a player was with the New York Yankees.

Completed Reds Team Sets - 1980s by jasongerman9
Last updated on Feb 25, 2023

List of Reds team sets from the 1980s decade that I have completed, whether they are one card or several. I consider a complete team set as having all of the Reds cards in any checklist that has at least one - be it a base set, parallel set, or insert set. I do not count subsets for the purposes of this list.

Team sets completed most recently are at the top of this list. After that, sets are ordered from oldest to newest, regardless of date of completion (though when known, the date of completion is in the comments).

TOPPS ALL-STAR ROOKIE CARDS 1987-PRESENT by richalot
Last updated on Feb 22, 2023

This list tracks the modern era of Topps All-Star Rookie (ASR) Team cards from 1987-present.

Each year, since 1960, Topps selects a team of notable first-year players to their Topps All-Star Rookie Team. These annual teams are usually composed of eight position players and two pitchers, but relief pitchers and a designated hitter have been included more recently. A trophy graphic on the players' cards commemorates their selection. Between 1979 and 1986, Topps continued to name an ASR Team but left the trophy graphic off the cards. In 1987, the ASR Trophy returned and has been on cards since.

In 2006, Topps introduced individually packed team sets. These blister carded sets include between 14-18 uniquely numbered cards that are usually the same as their base set counterparts. However, in some instances, Topps uses a different player photo, places the ASR Trophy in a different location, or removes elements from the cards that are included in the base set cards (e.g. "Future Stars" text). At other times, Topps didn't include the ASR Trophy on a base set card, and the team set is the only way to get a player's card with the ASR Trophy. Starting in 2014, team set cards don't include the metallic silver and gold foil elements that appear on base cards. (this list will not count those as variations if the card is otherwise identical).

This collection list captures the variations, short prints and distinctive team set cards for the All-Star Rookie Teams. It does include base set parallels; Opening Day, Chrome, Heritage, Topps Now or other sets; although they are referenced when a player's cards are missing the ASR Trophy in the base and team sets. Since 1987, there are 10 All-Star Rookie Team selections that did not have an ASR Trophy on their base or team set cards: Dale Sveum (1987), Alexei Ramirex (2009), David Murphy (2009), Tommy Joseph (2017), Ryan Schimpf (2017), Trea Turner (2017), Kenta Maeda (2017), Julio Urias (2017), Seung-Hwan Oh (2017). Charles Johnson was slected to the 1995 ASR Team, but Johnson did not have a card in the 1996 set due to a licensing rights dispute with Topps. Ryan Mountcastle was selected to the All-Star Rookie team in both 2020 (as an outfielder) and 2021 (as a first baseman). Mountcastle's cards in Topps' 2021 and 2022 sets reflect the back-to-back selections by including the ASR Trophy.

I have been collecting Topps ASR Team cards since I spotted the trophy in a pack I opened in 1987. This list is inspired by and evolved from the Topps All Star Rookie Trophy Cards maintained by FASportscards, which covers base set ASR cards from 1960 onwards.

Japanese MLB player Japanese/American rookie cards by Slug03
Last updated on Feb 18, 2023

All 67 Japanese MLB players rookie cards, from both America and Japan. There are also a few fun facts thrown in here as well about some of the players. Happy reading!

Many players have many, many rookies from the same year and other brands not listed here. My order of preference for choosing rookie cards were as follows:

Japanese rookies:
Year, BBM preferred (except for Murakami). Lowest card number chosen if BBM issued multiple cards of the player in the same set.

American rookies:
Topps base preferred, then bowman, then other major releases (Upper Deck, Donruss, Fleer/Fleer Tradition), then more minor sets released by the main companies (Topps Finest, Bowman's Best), and if no major releases exist for a player, then the earliest minor league card is selected.
