You will no doubt see the pattern of people connected to Windsor, Ontario, or Toronto (I live in Georgetown, Ontario now very close to Toronto after growing up in Windsor). Newest additions Michael Bradley and Arnold Palmer. Like I said as I remember more encounters I will add them, but I have set up the list alphabetical.

1999-00 Atlanta Thrashers by fedoratipper (Last updated on Mar. 13, 2019)

The Thrashers marked the NHL’s return to Atlanta and it went about as well as you would expect. They finished 14-57-7-4 and hold the record for least amount of points in a season since the NHL started the three points system with 39.

1992-93 Ottawa Senators by fedoratipper (Last updated on Mar. 11, 2019)

The Senators returned to the NHL after being dormant since 1934. They won their first game back against Montreal (Who would later go onto win the Stanley Cup) but it was all downhill from there as they finished 10-70-4 including going 1-41 on the road.

1992-93 San Jose Sharks by fedoratipper (Last updated on Mar. 11, 2019)

The Sharks finished 11-71-2 in their second season. Their 71 losses are the most in NHL history.

The "Top of Topps Football" Wall of Fame by cnangle (Last updated on Mar. 11, 2019)

These cards are displayed on the wall of my collecting room. The display consists of one card from each Topps Football set from 1956 to 2015.

On display is a card from my collection that I think best represents the set. For most years, that's the key rookie card. For the years I don't have the key rookie, it's probably a HOF Vikings player. However, there are a couple years where a card has some special interest to me, '77 Walter Payton for instance.

I'm sure I will end up changing some of these out as I continue to complete sets, at least I hope so.

2013 Houston Astros by fedoratipper (Last updated on Mar. 10, 2019)

Easily the worst team of the 2010's. The Astros finished 51-111 (The same record as the 2004 Diamondbacks). It's hard to believe that 4 years later, they would be the World Series champions.
Update: They no longer own the record for worst team of the 2010’s as the 2018 Orioles have broken that record.

Homage to Everyday Players Behind the Greatest Ones by Sportzcommish (Last updated on Feb. 24, 2019)

In his Hall of Fame acceptance speech, Jeff Bagwell gave homage to Casey Candaele, stating, "I was sitting next to Casey, and I said, "Man, this is awesome." He goes, "This is what it's all about." I took that, and I really understood that. He taught me so much about baserunning, how to be a good person, how to be a good player."

This list is to pay homage to players as collectors and fans of our favorite teams.
You can participate by suggesting players that will never make the Hall of Fame, but came through in the clutch for your team in a big game or series. Here's the criteria:

  • They were not Hall of Fame caliber players;
  • They helped win or be competitive in a game or a series with their play;
  • There will be only one player per existing MLB team chosen for the list;

  • You can suggest a player by commenting below and presenting your case for the player. Please be specific with the year, team and opponent, and scenario.
    I am allowing fellow members dictate players for your team, BUT I'll be the final judge since it is MY list. ;)
