A list of my serial number cards, with the pictures being the actual cards with the serial numbers on them. I don't have many and I'm not an active collector of them but thought I'd show them. They're also all available for trading or selling.

Pete Weber is the real-life Ernie McCracken by Alomar_Collector
Last updated on Jan 4, 2024

The best card photos of the PBA's most condescending, arrogant, rude, crybaby, spoiled brat - Pete "bow down before me" Weber. He is a real-life version of the character Ernie McCracken (played by Bill Murray) from the 1996 comedy "Kingpin", which also starred Woody Harrelson. Pete's dad, Dick Weber was a much more admirable person and a PBA legend than Pete will ever be.

Autographed Cards of the 1969 Cubs by Lerxst2112
Last updated on Jan 1, 2024

The goal of this collection is to acquire a signed copy of every Topps card each of the players and coaches of the 1969 Cubs appeared on throughout their playing career. I've acquired 428 signed Topps cards of the 465 cards needed. This makes the collection 92% complete, requiring only 37 more cards. I have a total of 1015 autographed cards by the 41 players, along with 35 signed by the coaching staff and even 3 signed by the team's TV announcer. The list uploaded here is only the 1969 Topps cards (or the closest they had to a 1969 issue) from each player. You can find the rest of the collection, along with other material, at my website listed below or click the link found on the bottom of each players page.

Here's a key to the info on each player's page. For example:

Ted Abernathy

"Abby" d.04 (36 yr. old veteran Reliever) 56 games

Ted Abernathy's nickname was "Abby", he died in 2004, he was a 36 years old relief pitcher during the 1969 season and he appeared in 56 games as a Cub in 1969. If the player was an All-Star in 1969 that is also indicated here. This information is followed by a short player bio including any of my personal encounters with the player.

New athletes to my collection - Football (300-599) by Canadian Codhead
Last updated on Dec 31, 2023

My collecting goal is 1 card per unique player/team combination. This list documents new additions to that collection.

The dates listed on the entries reflect the date I added the card to my TCDB collection, not the date I acquired it.

To make the list manageable, split into chunks of 300 cards.

Debut cards for all 2022 first-time major leaguers by Mungo Hungo
Last updated on Dec 28, 2023

Each player’s card is from 2022 or the next possible year, except that multi-player cards, game cards and a few other types are skipped over and used only absent other options. Minor league cards are used as a last resort. I own each card pictured. The highly uninteresting rules are in my profile page, linked above.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
303 players debuted in 2022. List shows just 297 cards because the same card won't post twice, and these players appear on the same card:
Huascar Brazoban, Jake Fishman & A.J. Ladwig
Luis Castillo & Cam Vieaux
Tyler Cyr & Norge Ruiz
Kevin Herget & Nicholas Padilla
Michael Plassmeyer & Bubby Rossman
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
See any mistakes, such as the card picturing the wrong player or misspelling a name? Or maybe a higher priority card exists but isn't yet listed in TCDB? Please let me know.

Joel Youngblood - PC Checklist by Bowersbird
Last updated on Dec 27, 2023

This is for me to figure out and remember the order I want my Joel Youngblood cards to go into their binder pages. I'm ignoring postcards (and maybe a variant or two), so I need something better than just a list of all his cards on the site. This seemed like the best idea.

Background: I was buying some cards on eBay and only needed a few more for free shipping (or some deal like that). I picked out Joel's RC because he was a Red & I thought his name was interesting. When it arrived, I went to put it away, and discovered I had his 1990 Score card, when he was also a Red. Was he really a Red for all those years and I didn't know about him? Turns out, no! 1976 and 1989 are his only years as a Red. I was intrigued, so I did a little research. The more I learned, the more fascinated and amused by this guy I was. So, I decided to start collecting his cards. It's fun to have this ongoing quest as well as become a little more familiar with the different sets of this era.

Unlike other lists, I will only add these as they're acquired. Don't really have any on my wantlist, but I'd be interested in trading for (and *possibly* buying) any I don't have.

I have separate lists for his main cards, any checklists he's named on, stickers, and even cameo appearances.

Joel Youngblood - PC Checklist: Checklists by Bowersbird

All the checklists on which Joel Youngblood appears (his name must appear on the card - if he's in the team photo but not listed, it's a cameo in my other list). Not a huge collection priority for me, but the idea is fun so I'll pick one up now and then. Chances are I missed at least one, so feel free to let me know if you know that another checklist with his name on it exists.

The last card needed to finish various sets/collections.

My two favorite collecting events:

2) when a collection/set is completed

1979-80 Topps Hockey - An Homage by BucCollector
Last updated on Dec 18, 2023

The 1979-80 Topps Hockey set was notable for several reasons. The Wayne Gretzky rookie, of course; and the final cards for Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, and Ken Dryden. The first cards from the four former WHA teams and the final cards of the Canadiens dynasty (and the Atlanta Flames futility).

The set included many great action shots and some bizarre portraits (see Terry Ruskowski). And I never get tired of the distinctive look, which has been reused a few times over the years.

Orioles Topps needs by Tscastle
Last updated on Dec 18, 2023

I left the hobby in the early 2000’s, a combination of spending more time on work and family. When I left I had mostly complete sets of Topps Orioles from 1954-then, missing a few superstar rookies or multi-player League Leader cards.

Two moves and 3 high school and college graduations later (my daughters, not me), in late 2020, a new card shopped opened about 5 minutes from my house. A few months later I found this site, and I started to dive back in. My first goal was to fill in blank years, which many were done by purchasing team sets for the year.

By January 2022 I was down to 68 cards I needed, so I created this list. In two years with tremendous assistance from many members here, as well as some great local merchants, both at 2 LCS’s and local card shows, I have completed my Topps Orioles (base set) collection from 1954 - 2022. (Adding each new year should be easier - just need 5 update cards for 2023).

Received 68 of 68 to date. Trades from tinyzinterfere, CubinSTLsets, plevin, MattnMiller, ccook, Johnsogr, Sandycoach, doublee919, Puma1125, StLMike, Ymmat, metscardboard, bobberkill, glassnickels, vrooomed, jimetal7212, a PIF from FiresNBeers, a contest prize package from vrooomed, purchases at 2 of my LCS’s, 2 local card shows and purchases from tbart19 and jfcard. Finished off with 3 from eBay.

Autos of Pitchers Who Have Thrown No-Hitters by Calleyoop
Last updated on Dec 6, 2023

As of the end of the 2022 season, there have been 253 pitchers who have thrown a complete game no-hitter in the regular season or post-season in the major leagues. 35 of them have thrown more than one no-hitter during their career, and 23 have pitched a perfect game.

This is my baseball card and postcard collection of autographs from these individuals, including a few that have signed more than one item. (I've included an autograph at the end of the list that doesn't quite meet the criteria I have established above, but it is hard not to include it given the special feat this pitcher accomplished.)

Latest Update: Added Milt Pappas
