Of Bruce Kison's 4 victories in the post season, only one came as a starter, the other 3 were in relief. He was the starting pitcher in the combined three-hitters in 1978, both 3-0 wins, on August 2 in Montreal and September 1 (game 2) against Atlanta. On September 29, 1978, he was the starting pitcher in the game in which the Pirates beat the Phillies 2-1. His home run was in the bottom of the 5th inning with two outs to deep left field off of future Hall of Famer Steve Carlton to tie the game 1-1. It was his last plate appearance of the season. |
